Did you know that Anglesey, the beautiful island off the coast of Wales, is connected to the mainland by not one, but two iconic bridges? Let’s dive into their fascinating history! 🏰🌊

Menai Suspension Bridge (1826):
Designed by the brilliant Thomas Telford, this engineering marvel was the first to link Anglesey to mainland Wales.
Spanning 1,500 feet, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its completion! 🚧
The bridge showcases Telford's innovative use of wrought iron and remains a stunning example of early 19th-century engineering.

Britannia Bridge (1850):
Originally designed as a tubular railway bridge, it was also created by Telford but completed by his successors after his death.
The bridge is notable for its unique design, featuring two massive stone towers and iron tubes that once carried trains across the Menai Strait. 🚂
In 1970, it was modified to accommodate road traffic, making it a vital artery for travel to and from Anglesey.

If only the lodge boss would sell the bunkhouse, could pull the junk off the old ski slope and replace it adding value to his cabin business, but sadly offered, refused and moans about fences on my land... threats to smash them down.
I wonder what the cabin owners below would prefer, a rotten cabin bunkhouse used a few times a year or a full ski slope, pub restaurants, and toboggan run..... hmm, if only

Have you thought about the 3 peak Welsh challenge. We're slap in the middle of Snowdon and Cadair Idris making for a perfect Pit stop. Both just less than 1hr drive. Nice easy road to drive down, amazing views once here to sit out and have a bbq or comfy modernised accommodation.

Lesser known than the National Three Peaks Challenge, the Welsh 3 Peaks is also a great hiking challenge that will take you to some of the most beautiful parts of Wales.

It consists of hiking the tree main peaks in Wales: Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Pen y Fan and Cadair Idris.

Altogether, the total walking distance is 17 miles.
