In the last month, Ocmis have completed and handed over the irrigation systems at Lahinch Golf Club and Gleneagles Golf Club. We would like to thank both Lahinch and Gleneagles for their co-operation throughout the successful projects. We now move onto our summer installations which have begun over the last few weeks at Dainton Park Golf Club and Market Harborough Golf Club with works already progressing well.

In the last week, Ocmis have completed the installation of a new pumping station at Trump International Golf Links Aberdeen. Manufactured at our workshop in Somerset, the pump set features stainless steel manifolds and six Grundfos pumps capable of delivering 256m3/hr at 9.6 bar pressure.

Over the last week, our installation team has begun the winter installation at Lahinch Golf Club. The team has begun installing the mainline pipework around the course with good progress being made. Over the next couple of weeks, the pump set and transfer system works will begin once the final pumphouse works have been completed. Keep an eye on our social media for regular updates. A year ago today marked the commencement of the installation works at Northamptonshire County Golf Club. During the winter months of 2022 and into the early stages of 2023, the Ocmis team undertook the installation of the brand-new Toro Lynx irrigation system. The new system now efficiently waters the Greens, Tees, Approaches, Fairways and Walkways which is an indispensable asset in the current financial climate. The successful installation by Ocmis has left both the client and it’s members with great satisfaction that the picturesque Northamptonshire County Golf Club has an irrigation system that will exceed expectations for many years to come.

It has been a very busy couple of weeks back at our offices in Somerset. Over the last week we have seen plenty of material and plant leave our yard ready for our winter projects at Lahinch Golf Club and Gleneagles to begin.

Throughout the summer months, Ocmis installed a brand-new irrigation system at Wellingborough Golf Club. The installation consisted of works to the Greens, Tees and Approaches. For a golf club, the summer months are the most important time of the year, that’s why it was essential for Ocmis to complete the installation without any disruption to the golf club. Ocmis installed a new Rain Bird irrigation system which consisted of 10km of pipework and up to 400 sprinkler heads in just under 40 days! The project was a resounding success leaving the client and their members with an irrigation system to cherish for many years to come.

Installation of new mainline pipework for the new irrigation system at Moor Park Golf Club is well underway. The project will see some 47km of pipe installed around the High and West courses to enable water to be distributed much more efficiently and effectively for many years to come. The Fellowship Square fountain is located in the London borough of Waltham Forest and was installed in 2020/21 as part of the works to renovate and regenerate Waltham Forest Town Hall and the surrounding landscape. The works to renovate the town hall was awarded to ISG and the works to design, supply and install the fountain were carried out by Ocmis Ltd.

A key element of the works to regenerate the town hall was the creation of a community space, and this was achieved through the Churchman Thornhill Finch designed pedestrian area, this area replaces the previous entrance road and an existing large water fountain.

The fountain comprises of 145 individually controlled Oase jets and LEDs.

The works were completed in early summer 2021, and the fountain has proved extremely popular with visitors and the local community since its opening.

We are looking for a Design Office Assistant to join our busy Design & Estimating Office.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in a design, estimating or computer-aided design (CAD) role. In this varied role, the post holder would support the existing design and estimating team with a variety of roles and across a range of potential and ongoing projects.

The post is for full time, 40 hours per week, and based at our main office.
The role would involve: –
• Creation of Bill Of Materials spreadsheets and quantifying materials from drawings
• Preparation of customer-facing documents including tenders, letters, Operation and Maintenance manuals etc.
• Assisting with the preparation of system designs, including design calculations
• Assisting with ongoing project management, site queries etc
• Potential to assist with the production of 3D drawings, models etc
• Upkeep of company website and social media
• General design office administration tasks as necessary

The role allows for considerable scope to progress your career further within the company into whichever role suits you best.

As we are a somewhat specialist company the necessary on the job training will be provided and will be ongoing for some time.

Applicants should be well versed in MS Office applications and be generally computer literate. Some working knowledge of CAD packages may be advantageous although not essential.

Salary is negotiable subject to skills and experience and Ocmis provide a benefits package including 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, pension scheme, private health care scheme (after probationary period).
