Who's been on the cable cars at the fantastic Heights of Abraham here in beautiful Matlock Bath?

A reminder that when you book tickets for the Illuminations you get a same-discount at The Heights of Abraham - but you do need to pre-book. Details are on your Illuminations e-ticket.

It always makes sense in any case to make a day of it in Matlock Bath, with all its fabulous attractions.

Looking at this Saturday's weather forecast (zero per cent chance of rain according to the BBC ☀️) it's going to be busy, especially as it's the last available Saturday of the 2024 Illuminations season (all other Saturdays through to the end of October are *s o l d - o u t*).

As always happens when we post photos of the Illuminations spectacular decorated boats, we get a big uplift in ticket sales - especially for our fireworks finale nights.

We are already almost at 90% capacity for 5 October and *ALL* of our fireworks nights will sell out in advance.

They are on Saturdays 5, 12, 19 and 26 October plus the final night of the 2024 season, Sunday 27 October.

‘The seaside town without the sea’ 🌊🏠

Nestled in the Derbyshire Dales, on the banks of the River Derwent, Matlock Bath was one of the country’s first tourist destinations and visitors flocked for miles in the Victorian era to sample its healing spa waters 💦

Today Matlock Bath is famous for its fish and chip shops 🍟, amusement arcades 🎲, small theme park at Gulliver's Kingdom, and cable car rides leading to a cliff top country park at The Heights of Abraham 🚠
