Today’s iPhone memory! The views from Hollybush Cottage just blow me away, whatever the weather. Come and enjoy long autumnal walks along the river, explore the Scottish Borders’ ancient abbeys, lose yourself in the Great Tapestry of Scotland or just potter around the shops and cafes in Melrose. Then come home to underfloor heating, a soak in a roll top bath or walk-in shower and finally cosy up n front of a roaring wood burning stove - the perfect recipe for an autumn evening.

Even on the cloudiest of days, Hollybush Cottage is flooded with light. We have artists that return year after year because of this. I know I just love the light when I am on holiday and when we re-designed the cottage in 2021, we did everything to maximise the light and bring those amazing views inside, come sun, rain or snow!

Blowing away the Christmas cobwebs with a March up a hill - winter sunsets,especially over the Eildons, are difficult to beat.

This fantastic viaduct is just below Hollybush Cottage spanning the River Tweed. We were so excited to be able to hear Indiana Jones's motorbike purring along our little local road.... Come and stay and walk where Indiana Jones has walked!

Great excitement came to the Scottish Borders this weekend as the stunning Leaderfoot viaduct near Melrose played a starring role in the next instalment of the Indiana Jones films. Harrison Ford himself was on set on Friday evening, just one day before the 40th anniversary of Raiders of the Lost Ark's release! Why not come and explore this beautiful area for yourself?

Last summer week remaining. One week from 16th August reduced from £995 to £895 for 4 people for the whole week. An easy train ride or drive in for the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe or just for the beauty, sights and scenery of the Scottish Borders. Fantastic beaches just 45 minutes away and river swims and walks almost from the door. PS for farming enthusiasts, the combine harvester will hopefully be in full swing by then: watch the oats being brought in or the Higland Cows grazing peacefully in the field, all
from the comfort of your decking (or bedroom - depending on how relaxed you want your holiday to be!).
