We have some news to share about the future of Wood Farm Cottages in 2025.

At the end of 2023, after 31 years of providing holiday accommodation at Wood Farm, we decided that it was time for us to retire. We put Wood Farm on the market in March last year and we have now exchanged contracts with Jonathan and Lara Doughty, a local couple with two young children, who will be making Wood Farm their home. We’re delighted to be handing Wood Farm over to the next generation and delighted too that the Doughtys will continue to offer self-catering holiday accommodation on the site.

As part of their commitment to Wood Farm, the Doughtys will be completing extensive renovation work to the existing cottages and barns. This means that they will need to close Wood Farm Cottages in 2025 to start the building work that will continue into 2026. Look out for their website woodfarm-barns.com in the coming months.

We have loved our years at Wood Farm. Thank you so much to all of you have stayed at Wood Farm over the years. Seeing our guests having a wonderful time on their holidays here has made it all worthwhile. We’re moving into a smaller house in Holt so maybe we’ll see you in town on your next visit!

Winter in Norfolk doesn't mean it's not worth a visit.

November is the start of pupping season and baby seals are being born each day along our coastline.

Blakeney point is the closest place to Wood Farm where you can see this magical event, getting a boat from Morston and heading out to the Point.
Or if you fancy a scenic drive to Horsey or Winterton (about an hour away) and walking along the warden patrolled pathways you can spend the whole day watching these beautiful creatures. If you're lucky you may even get to witness a birth.
The seal wardens are all volunteers and are incredibly helpful when visiting.

Yesterday I visited Horsey and there were a number of new seal pups dotted along the shoreline. As it was a weekday it was nice and quiet, weekends get quite busy and especially during half term.

We have availability throughout November and December so if you'd like to tick this experience off your bucket list then book a stay with us and make it happen 😊

The birthing season runs from early November to mid/end January
