Redhill Student Hosting

Generally, we require families who are willing to open up their homes to students aged between 12 to 16 years old. As these are school trips we also need some families to host the teachers, coach drivers or their guides. The trips take place during their term times and the busy period is usually between January to June where we may have coaches arriving on a weekly basis, although there may be a few trips arriving from October onwards. You don't have to host every week and we will contact you well in advance to find out your availability, so if you can't commit to every week, don't worry. The trips generally take place during the week arriving on Monday evenings and lasting until either Thursday or Friday morning and they are out all day from 8am to around 7 to 7.30pm on their excursions. All we ask that the host family provide a warm and friendly welcome to the students interacting with them and encouraging them to speak English so we ask that your share time with them at dinner time and at breakfast.. Usually the students may be a bit shy to use their English so a bit of encouragement may also be required but don't worry if you're a bit rusty with your French as they are here to speak English! You need to have a car to transport them to and from Redhill Football Club car park (near East Surrey Hospital) in the mornings and evenings and we ask that you arrive on time in the mornings as they have busy schedules, as well as the evenings, as they don't want to be hanging round after a long day. As they leave at 8.15am prompt we ask you to drop them off at 8am so they can all be on the coach ready to leave on time. We also ask you to provide a basic packed lunch every day as well as their dinner and breakfast (toast or cereal). The students aren't t allowed to go out in the evening. We pay families on a per night basis - presently £14.50 per night per child (and slightly more if you host adults) and we will make the payment directly to your bank account within 48 hours of their arrival.
