Visitors to the North of Corfu will be familiar with the village of Agios Stefanos. There are, in fact two villages sharing the same name, one in the North West and one in the North East of the island. Located down a winding road in the area of Sinies, Agios Stefanos (North East) is a much quieter experience than its more developed namesake, with just a few tavernas and shops but with views of neighbouring Albania which sits just a few kilometres to the East.

Something a little different for Easter weekend here in the UK with an evening tour of some of the religious sites in Skiathos.
The evening begins at the church of The Archangels, where you get a wonderful view and a short tour of the interesting, old church. We then continue to the Church of The Virgin Mary and after we have visited it, there is a short footpath that will take us down to the Evagelistria Monastery, built to be well hidden from pirates in a lush valley. This is the only monastery on Skiathos that is still active and it has a fascinating 200-year history, starting with the making of the first Greek flag.
After a tour of the premises and the local museum, which houses a rare collection of icons, relics and traditional costumes, you will get some time on your own before departing.

Located in the North West of Corfu, San Stefanos (or Agios Stefanos) ticks all the boxes for a Greek Island Holiday. Just an hour from Corfu’s airport the village is set behind almost 2km of golden sand which features sun beds and water sports. A selection of Tavernas, shops and bakeries can be found in and around the village.

Featuring on the itineraries of many ‘Mamma Mia Fans, Kastani beach is located around 15km from the main town of Skopelos. Kastani features on all of the film related island tours and boat trips from Skiathos. The beach can get busy in the height of the summer months but there is plenty of space with sun loungers and a garden/bar area to relax and view the crystal clear waters and the pine covered hills which surround it.

Roda is located on the North Coast of the Ionian Island of Corfu. Traditionally a fishing village, Roda maintains it’s traditional charm. The village is fronted by a large sandy beach which runs the length of the village, narrowing and turning more as it runs into the neighbouring village of Acharavi.
Bars, cafes and Tavernas can be found on the road which leads to the sea front but for a more traditional Greek experience, the tavernas in the old part of the village can provide beach side dining with a unique atmosphere.

In the North West of Corfu, just North of Paleokastritsa, Arillas is located in between its two neighbouring villages of San Stefanos and Agious Georgeos. It is popular with repeat visitors, both for its fine sandy beach and its traditional village atmosphere. The beach is backed by the coast road which features a selection of hotels, tavernas and friendly bars. Further bars and a small selection of shops can be found on the road which leads back from the coast.
Arillas is around an hours drive from Corfu's international airport.

Agnodas, Skopelos
Agnodas is just a short bus ride from Skopelos town and together with Stafylos and Limnonari, are the beaches most local to the main town.
Agnodas features a crescent of coarse sand, fringed with a small collection of Beach front Tavernas where the local catch is available. The bay is quite sheltered and is home to moorings for fishing boats and pleasure boats and is the port which is used when the main town harbour is considered too rough for ferry dockings.

Located around 7km from the main town of Skopelos, Milia beach is one of the islands most popular stretches of sand, particularly as it was featured in the Mamma Mia production and is included in many island tours. The beach remains un crowded though and its one of the few places on the island where activities like Kayaking operate from.

A quick two minute tour around the beaches of Skiathos, filmed during my last visit to the island.
Located in the Sporades chain of islands, Skiathos features over sixty beaches, many of which consist of fine golden sand. Most of these are accessible on the coast road which stretches from Skiathos town to Koukounaries and are served by the excellent bus route which has a regular service in each direction. Koukounaries, located at the last stop is considered one of the best beaches globally and is a must see location whilst visiting the island. Whilst Koukounaries can get crowded during the height of the summer months, other quieter beaches such as Mandraki and Eleni are located a short walk away on the North Eastern side of the island.

Sitting right above San Stefano's sandy beach, the Island Suite is one of the villages newest Villas, completed last year. With direct access to the beach, the single story villa features a private pool and probably one of the best sunset views in the village.

Here's the second part of your tour around some of the beaches of Skiathos.
In this video we start with the world famous Lalaria beach, famous for its arched rock and only accessible by boat. We them go onto the more accessible Asselinos with its crescent of golden sand. The beaches of Troulos and Vassilias are accessed from them main coast road and we finish our visit in the south west with Agia Ekleni famous for its sunsets.

With around 44km of coastline, Skiathos features over 60 beaches of all shapes and sizes, most of which are sandy. Six of these are blue flag beaches which include the most famous, Koukounaries in the south west and others such as Megali Ammos and Troulos.
Ten beaches of Skiathos features a small selection of some of our favourite beaches and in part one of two videos we feature five of these starting with Megali Ammos and then visit Banana over in the west and then onto the more remote beaches of Mandraki and Elias.
