Hello one and all,

I've worked in the NHS since 2008 and have seen patients both too fat and too thin to physically have the strength to stand up. In the world we live in I find this really distressing especially in the light of the fact that these people can rarely get the help they so desperately need, are stigmatised because of their appearance or side lined because they have a mental illness.

Alongside this we’re bombarded by the media with a lot of myths and mixed messages about food, body image and exercise which can make it really confusing if you're trying to sort through ideas. Is there any wonder so many of us end up with f**ked up relationships with food and our bodies? Myself being a prime example, of ALWAYS turning to food to deal with negative emotions, I have finally come out of the other side, a lot wiser and with more understanding that will power has nothing to do with long term weight - not in my world anyway. I'm happy to demolish a packet of biscuits if the mood takes me (a conscious choice unrelated to my emotions and I bloody enjoy them not ram them in guiltily) and still feel comfortable in my skinny jeans. I believe that the best way to promote wellbeing is to remove the focus from the diet trap, which is just a miserable depressing cycle. I think everyone can be as healthy as they can be right now in the body they’ve got. We are who we are right now, and the only things we have the power to change are our present state of mind and choices moving forward. I also believe no health professional who tells you what you SHOULD weigh (some caveats regarding surgery etc), SHOULD be asked to provide robust scientific evidence of what use, medically, in the long term that would mean for your health. ONLY YOU know your body best and you know what feels comfortable and healthy to you. F**k society if it disagrees with you. In light of this I'd like to use my experience to address women and body image in an alternative way. My aim is for all women to feel good about themselves, their appearances and their food choices. And by the way there will be NO talk of 'good and bad foods', just foods we feel hungry for, nourished by and enjoy eating in a mindful way. FULL GUARANTEE OF YOUR MONEY BACK if you don't think you've spent it wisely.....

But I can't really see how learning the skills to eat cake often, and not have a pre night out frenzy 'cos... 'NOTHING FITS' ....could ever be a bad thing! If you don't experience these problems (high five) come along anyway if you have any aspects of your relationship with food you'd like to change or discuss. I am a practising health professional and as such would lose my job and be struck off if I breached confidentiality so rest assured you can tell me ALL your secrets!!!!! Private message me on here, email me at [email protected] or call me on 07487829995 and I can answer any questions you might have or get your spot signed straight up and reserved. Peace out beautiful people # # # # # #

Hahahahahaha😀😀😀, I need to do a transformation Tuesday! My body was strong and very fit in this picture taken in 2015 before I got my personal trainer qualification. I gave birth 10 days ago and couldn't look more different! I am in awe of what my body is capable of and am more confident in it than ever before despite the stupid BMI measurement telling me I am unhealthy

Great Ted talk, re ditching the Diets, set point and mindful eating

In the US, 80% of girls have been on a diet by the time they're 10 years old. In this honest, raw talk, neuroscientist Sandra Aamodt uses her personal story to frame an important lesson about how our brains manage our bodies, as she explores the science behind why dieting not only doesn't work, but…

Thinking of a January diet? PLEASE don't
A skinny new you doesn't exist, you don't change who you are when you lose weight. You can become aware of your food and activity levels and make positive changes without deprivation to love the skin you're in.

Resolve to finally lose weight this new year. With the help of our diet plan, you'll see results by February.

If you want to change your relationship with food the first step is noticing these behaviours.

IGNORE THE BOTTOM BIT, never get to 1, aim to eat at 4 and stop at 6 to 7, once you're uncomfortably hungry your body wont let you eat mindfully, your brain will just scream FOOOOOOOOD NOW, ANYTHING NOW!!!! the message is: pay attention to your hunger, honour it, is it physical or emotional? physical can be satisfied by food in a distraction free environment, emotional hunger often requires more food and you will most likely find yourself distracting yourself too rather than eating mindfully.

Hunger Scale - everyone should practice intuitive eating & getting in touch with their bodies!

"one of the best predictors of weight gain over the four years was having lost weight on a diet at some point during the years before the study started."

There simply is no evidence base for the way we currently 'tackle' and 'blame' obesity,

Are healthcare professionals not at a basic level aiming to 'do no harm'?

Researchers say most dieters will return to their starting weight within five years, with some ending up even heavier.

'its about moving and living and getting rid of the baggage in your head and accepting who your are and breaking the door open'.

I'm working non-stop currently but planning a program based on these principles of body acceptance, mindful eating, and movement to teach you how to create a healthy relationship with your food, mind, and body--where you ultimately become the expert of your own body.

Tired of squats, lunges, push-ups, and boring cardio? Then pay attention because you're about to look forward to working out! Shaun T goes back to his dancin...

I’ll share three ways in which putting body respect at the centre can help turn the tide on body shame, weight stigma and rising health inequalities and promote enjoyable eating, and nutritio…

What did you have for dinner last night? I had protein, omega 3’s, a side of carbs, oh and there was a nice dash of B vitamins, vitamin A and zinc and a little iron and calcium to top it off… said no one ever…and no one has ever said that because we eat food not nutrients. But for some reason, for the past decade health and nutrition messages have focused on nutrients. Don’t eat carbs, eat protein, don’t eat sugar, eat omega 3’s, don’t eat fructose….What has happened to looking at the most important factor…the WHOLE diet….? If you’re cutting out carbs you won’t be eating sugar or cakes or biscuits but you won’t be eating beans or lentils or wholegrains either, but you are allowed to eat bacon, salami and deep fried chicken….that doesn’t really make sense to me? It’s about time we started to look at foods and the whole diet.

There is not, has not and probably never will be a single nutrient that is the cause of poor health and disease. Eating fat doesn’t make you fat, eating sugar doesn’t give you diabetes and eating protein won’t turn you into a body builder, it’s the WHOLE diet and many lifestyle factors (as well as genetics and a plethora of physiological reasons) that contribute to health conditions, not one single nutrient.

We have become so fixated of certain nutrients we lose sight of the big picture, the WHOLE diet. Let’s re-wire our thinking and focus on whole and minimally processed foods as part of our WHOLE diet. Eating whole and minimally processed foods doesn’t mean you can’t set foot in the supermarket again or that you can only shop at farmers markets, organic stores or buy locally foraged goods. Minimally processed foods can include canned varieties of beans, lentils, fish, fruit and vegetables as well as frozen varieties of veggies, fruit, fish and meat. Stocking up in the fresh fruit and vegetable section at the supermarket, the fresh meat and dairy section and selecting the wholegrain breads and cereals can all lead to eating minimally processed foods.

So don’t worry about fat, carbs, sugar, fructose, gluten, wheat, protein, worry about your WHOLE diet, and if the majority of it is full of vegetables and minimally processed foods then don’t worry at all! ;)
