To some, this may look like an average dining area in a caravan. To us, it's the home of our togetherness while we are here. Wether it's to gather around for a full English breakfast 🥓, a Sunday roast or crafting ✏️ (FYI - that's a pencil, please may we ask if you can refrain from bringing pens to please do so 🙏) or our favourite.. a good board game!

Admittedly, how busy can life be at home, and how hard is it to get everyone around the table together at the same time? How often do you get to enjoy meals together, let alone a board game.

Here's to another year of bickering over board games 🎲 😅

Meet the faces behind Woodside Hideaway 🌳 - there's loads of new interest coming through, so I thought I'd share a little something.

We are 2 families of 4, who enjoy living life in the slow lane, exploring the outdoors and spending quality time with our children.

The 2 handsome devils in the middle have worked together for 18 years and share many interests.. one of which being a countryside staycation.. which brought us to the joint purchase of Woodside Hideaway in 2020.

We are entering our 4th year of renting out of holiday home. We have received the most amazing reviews and lots of rebookings from returning guests (which speaks volumes and we are so proud) 🥰 From the bottom of our hearts we want to say a huge THANKYOU to everyone who has ever booked with us, and those who help spread word on our hideaway. 🎆

Also a HUGE thankyou DLP Leisure our hot tub maintenance and house keeping team, because without them, the running of this wouldn't be possible. 🤎

2024 🎇 🎆 we are entering our 4th year of renting out our holiday home. Thank you to all guests who have stayed with us previously. The past 3 years have been really successful but lets make 2024 the most succesful year yet!!

How our little reno is looking so far 🛠 as I know a few of you are intrigued as to what we are up to!

• New double mattress 🛌
• Fitted sofa ripped out 🛋
• Carpets removed throughout 🛠

• Ben has started wood panelling the living room 🛠

• New sofas/sofa beds ordered
• Our dining room fitted seated has been sent off for upholstery 🧵🪡
• New carpets ordered

Also to do; pick a paint for the wood panelling and get some voile sorted for the windows. 🪟

Decent admission price 🎫 for a full day out, as 3 adults and 2 children, admission cost us £60.

Bring some £1 coins for the little diggers and mini trackers. And a picnic to save a few quid. 🥪

It's our 3rd time here and we've had another fabulous day, and we will certainly be returning again in the future.

The summer holidays are here 🛝 ⚽️ 🦆 this will be our 3rd summer of renting out our holiday home 😲

This year, again, we see the return of guests from previous years which always brings us great pleasure to know guests enjoyed their previous stays that much, that they wish to return. That being said, we have alot of returning guests.. some of which are onto their 6th booking with us, which is just amazing. 🤩

We are entirely grateful for everyone's custom. We love sharing our little Hideaway with you all. 🐿🦌

Please can we ask that during our busiest time of year, that you take care of our little Hideaway as you would your own holiday home. Please relax and enjoy yourself of course, we do have a full housekeeping team which go in every turn over for cleaning, linen and the hot tub change over. But a few little pointers we would like to make;

If you use it.. clean the BBQ.. PLEASE 🙏 leave the bbq clean for the next guests. 🍖

We touched on this before but we kindly ask if it can be avoided, no felt tip pens. Please bring crayons, pencils etc. ✏️ 🖍

Our house keeping team are not responsible for any of the children equipment; bedguards, highchair and travel cot. If you use them, please ensure they are cleaned down and stored away neatly under the double bed. 🍼

£50 deposit is required to secure any dates. The full balance is due 2 weeks prior to check in. 📆

Lovely little visit to Aln Valley Railway 🚂 we spent 3 hours here today and thoroughly enjoyed it.

🐾 Dog friendly - they can actually ride on the train too which I think is great! It can be tricky finding dog friendly attractions.

🚂 Locomotive prices vary depending on single or return tickets.. under 3s ride free! We paid £22 for our return ticket and it was just perfect, something really special.. with some unreal views 🌲🌳

🚂 Mini Railway, £3 for an all day ticket! 🎫 ride as many times as you wish.. which the kids thought was great!

I have no idea what/where this is.. but it caught our eye on the way back from Druridge Bay Country Park. 🛣

I always slow down and glance when I see multiple cars pulled over in little country laybys.. I understand how strange that sounds 😅 but I'm always intrigued to see what walks are around. The waterfall was visible from the road, so we pulled over and went for a lovely little stroll.

How many do we sleep? 🛏

Comfortably we sleep 4, however we do have space to sleep 6.. it's personal preference really 😃

• 1 double bedroom (pictured below) with space for a travel cot to go down either side of the bed. 1 travel cot provided, we please ask if you can store this away upon departure under the double bed.

• 1 twin bedroom

• 1 small sofa bed in living room area

We provide 1 travel cot, and 2 bed guards.

Due to insurance purposes we cannot accept bookings for more than 6 bodies, babies included. 🍼

Due to park rules, we do not accept large partys of the same s*x. 🥂

I can't begin to tell you how lovely it was being at the caravan this weekend.. sun shining through the windows, doors open because it got to warm inside, birds tweeting away and the sound of Eshott Airfields little plane passing by every now and then ✈️

It got me excited for Spring 🌷 🐦

Unfortunately Percy Woods Country Park closes for guests the duration of February!

It's a great time for owners to get up and crack on with a few maintenance jobs and there's always alot of work ongoing on site too! 🛠

The golf course is having an update as we speak and there's lots more happening over the coming weeks. ⛳️

Our 2023 diary is open March - December with a handful of Peak breaks left (school holidays 🌞, bank holidays etc) we have lots of availability for off peak breaks.

and coffee shop certainly doesn't disappoint! 🐖

We visited this lovely farm shop a couple of months ago on our way home from the caravan.
We had some lovely lunch, stretched our legs, the kids had a run around and we picked up some yummy treats to refill the fridge when we got home. Perfect!

Please note; we have the bird/squirrel feeders on the tree behind the hottub but unfortunately we aren't here that often to replenish them 🌱🥜 please feel free to bring your own seed/fat balls/nuts to add in while your here (I promise it's worth having them full of treats) 🐿

Admittedly, we don't venture out much to nearby restraunts with having the 2 little ones.. so we always head into Willowburn Retail Park at Alnwick for yummy treats to cook in the caravan 🚐

Next door to the glorious Turnbull's Northumbrian Food 🛒 & round the corner from Sainsburys.

Percy Pigs anyone? 🐷

Did you know most super markets offer delivery to the caravan park?

If you already place online food shops, it's a simple step to just change your address as a 1 off, select your delivery slot as normal and hey presto! 🛒

We only have experiences with Asda and they have always turned up on time with all the goods 🫒🥫 sometimes they call for a little reassuring around site to find the caravan ☎️ - which is really easy now the top of Woodside is open (we are the first sharp left upon entering the gates, and follow the road down - then I just wait at the window and flag them down 😄)

It's so convenient if your planning to spend check in day exploring and not wanting to leave food on the boot of your car. 🚗

Cragside is one of those places that I always wanted to visit but truth be told I was never expecting much, I naively thought there was a house to look at and a few fields/walks. Something to pass an hour our two away.

It's safe to say I was blown away with just how beautiful Cragside is, There's much more to it than I had originally thought. Driving in is like something out of a movie! 🎬 (Lord of the rings as my husband kept saying)

With its vast grounds and seriously impressive home inventions there's plenty to see and do for the whole family.

I would recommend popping some sturdy walking shoes on, Packing a picnic and provided the weather is on your side spending the whole day there. ☀️

I should also mention... If your legs get tired like our little ones did. Not to worry! You can jump in the car and follow the Carriage drive which is a 6 mile drive around the estate with stop offs along the way. Our children particularly loved the playground and ice cream stop off at Crozier. 🍦
