This former 200 year old Fisherman’s Cottage stands in an enviable position only a stone's throw from the sea with stunning views of Druridge Bay. The views from the kitchen, sunroom, master bedroom and rear are spectacular and the historical Pele tower which dates back to the 15th century faces front of the property. The traditional, quiet seaside village of Cresswell is situated at the southerly
point of Druridge Bay. It has one of the most impressive stretches of beach on the Heritage Coastline with an awesome seven mile long sweep of golden sand which runs from Cresswell to Hauxley near Amble, a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. Druridge Bay is also a haven for bird watchers with hides built especially for observing wildfowl in the Wildlife Trust Reserve as well as dotted along this coastline. Long ago coal mining was the main source of income in this region and Skears Cottage takes its name from the reference to a band of coal. The local history is brought back to life at the Woodhorn Museum and Country Park a few miles south of the property, which has been created from former colliery buildings. On view are colourful art exhibitions and the history and folklore of coal over 700 years set in a quiet country park. Bird watching, fishing, water sports, cycling, golf, walking and sailing all available locally. Skears Cottage offers a wonderful relaxing base for family and friends to explore the region.
