Our holiday home

In the mid 1990s I met a man named John Heath who became a good friend. He invited us to his chalet, then named Rest-a-Whyl and we first went in 1998. Despite the facilities being pretty basic, a tiny bath instead of a shower for example, we fell in love with the place and kept going back regularly. The above photo was taken in 2008. In 2010 John sold the chalet and I discovered the buyer to be Kissi Tainio (Wilkins now), and thanks to Facebook we visited again in 2012 and were greatly impressed by the improvements. We’d booked to go in 2013 too as Jen (our eldest daughter) was getting married (and weddings aren’t cheap), but Kissi contacted us to tell us she was selling. It was a no-brainer as far as we were concerned and bought the place. We have never regretted our decision and now we give others the same opportunity we had when we were younger. We still enjoy going ourselves and always look forward to our time in Norfolk. One day we hope we’ll be in Norfolk permanently.
