We are gearing up for the start of the Nairn Book and Arts Festival on the 31st August!
As one event finishes in Nairn, there is always something else to look forward to. As we wave goodbye to another Nairn Highland Games, we can now look forward to the Nairn Book & Arts Festival.
The event kicks off on August 31 and runs until September 8.
It's a nine day festival of literature and arts, featuring appearances by nationally renowned and local authors, alongside live music, drama, film, art exhibitions and creative workshops. There are also two days of family-friendly, free outdoor performance, music and creative activities. Festival venues include Nairn Community & Arts Centre, The Little Theatre, Nairn Old Parish Church, Nairn High Street and The Brae, the Putting Green by James’s and Viewfield Park.

Join us on Saturday 31st August from 11am as we take over Nairn High Street & The Brae with free creative outdoor activities, performances, & live music!
Featuring performance pop-ups from Nairn Youth Theatre , roaming poetry with ‘Walkaboot Bard’ , music from local choirs & bands at Castle Square, & mischievous fun from the Mad Hatters of Moray.
Get involved & have a go at pavement art with professional street artist , practise your circus & aerial skills with Fly Agaric Performing Arts, then don your wildest costumes & join Nairn Pipe Band for the ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ fancy dress parade at 4pm!
All activities are FREE & there’s no need to book.
If you plan on having a go at the pavement art we’d suggest bringing an old t-shirt to wear that you don’t mind getting messy 😁

THURSDAY NIGHT - It’s going to be a fantastic night ⭐️ the very last Ceilidh of the 2024 summer season by Nairn Ceilidh Group.
We want to thank Royal Brackla distillery for their support for the whole season with a bottle of whisky each week. This weeks raffle includes Breakfast for 2 from Sandown House, 2 x author tickets from Nairn Book and Arts Festival, 2 x cinema tickets from Cinema Nairn, tartan goodies from Listen Well Scotland and much, much more. *Thank you to all the public who have handed in raffle prizes over the last 8 weeks.
All proceeds from this final Ceilidh will go to support Nairn Community & Arts Centre.
Come along and join us, and celebrate in style with THE best strip with willow with the Andy Ross Ceilidh Band followed by a fantastic night with Queen McBean and Friends, The Speldings, Fraser School of Highland Dancing and Nairn Pipe Band.
The countdown is on to the Nairn Highland Games which take place down at the Links on the beachfront this Saturday, August 17.

📌It’s up to you to decide who wins the £25 cash prize that will be awarded to The People’s Choice Photo.
📌Visit our stand between 10:30am and 3:30pm on Games Day to cast your vote – you’ll find us on the bandstand. Everyone who votes will be entered into our prize draw to win a bottle of Royal Brackla (over 18s only) or a £10 Scotland Loves Local Gift Card (under 18s).
📌Shortlisted photos, category winners for date ranges (£25 prizes) and the overall winner (£50 prize) were chosen by members of The Board Advisory Group from an anonymised selection. In making their decision the group was asked to consider "Which photos best capture the spirit of Nairn Games?". Winners will be announced in the Games Day publication.
📌Thank you to Sheena Baker who kindly donated the cash prizes for this competition and who selected the overall winner.

This year we will have 2 seperate bars here at The Havelock. One inside and one out. We will have plenty of outside seating with brollies, although let's hope we won't need them ☀️☀️
Serving up great draught beers, spirits, soft drinks and cocktails on the day.
As usual there will be no food service on Games Day and all drinks will be dispensed in plastic glasses.
