GENEROUS SOULS -DHIKR OF THE HEART
A message was delivered to Hafiz Muhammad Hayat ق from a local saint Pir Sayia Neyk Alam Shah ق, from Mirpur. Consequently, Hafiz Muhammad Hayat met Pir Neyk Alam, who told him: “We have a special Mujadidi connection, and we have been looking for a capable person to carry it for a long time. We believe you are that person.”
Following this, Hafiz Muhammad Hayat then visited both Bawali Sharif and Pir Neyk Alam. Whenever he went to sleep, he would ensure that his feet were not in the direction of these two places nor towards the madrasa he had studied at.
One day, he received another message from Pir Neyk Alam that he must visit Imam-i- Rabbani shrine in Sirhind. He then spent three days and nights in Sirhind and received countless blessings.
The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the three dimensions of faith - “Iman, Islam, Ihsan,” beliefs, actions, and sincerity. In line with all the great masters and Sufi writers, Imam-e Rabbani regarded Sufism as Islam’s innermost aspect and the best servant of Shariah.
Thus viewing themselves as the servants of the Shariah, the Naqshbandiyya masters base all of their teachings on the Qur’an and the Sunnah. And so, this was Muhammad Hayat’s practice too.
Once, he is said to have stopped at a mosque during his travels along with some devotees. During the prayer, the mosque still remained empty. So he sent two of his devotees to ask the local people if anyone would come to the mosque to pray.
When the devotees spoke to the local people, the people replied: “We have a mosque. However, we do not know how to pray.” When Hafiz Muhammad Hayat was informed of the situation, he was greatly saddened and said. “ We must stay here and teach them.” And hence, he then sojourned a few days in the area to teach the local people how to pray.

GENEROUS SOULS- DHIKR OF THE HEART
Hafiz Khwajuddin ق took Hafiz Muhammad Hayat ق to Bawali Sharif. He was initiated by Khwaja Muhammad Bakhsh ق into the Naqshbandiya Mujadidiyya order, and his master granted him permission to open a madrasa to teach people the Qur’an in his village.
Hafiz Muhammad Hayat began to teach the Qur’an. Once, two of his former students were taken to another teacher. After listening to their recitation, the teacher immediately sent them away and said: “Take them back to their first teacher, Hafiz Muhammad Hayat. The way they recite the Qur’an is marvellous. No one else in our region can recite the Qur’an in the Hijaz dialect.”
On another occasion, a visiting imam overheard the recitations of Hafiz Muhammad Hayat’s students. He came to ask Hafiz Muhammad Hayat if he could be convinced to come to his area and teach his children. Hafiz Muhammad Hayat declined and told him: “Many students come from far and wide to study here.
If I were to move out, it would become impossible for them to find me.” Due to his innate integrity, Hafiz Muhammad Hayat never asked for funds for the madrasa. He laboured most of the day as a farmer. His uncle soon realised that his nephew showed an unparalleled dedication and passion for teaching. So, he chose to donate some of his own land for the accommodation of students.
Once, two people came and sought spiritual guidance from Hafiz Muhammad Hayat. Thus far, he had not officially initiated anyone into the spiritual path. So he said to them: “I will need to take you to my master in Bawali Sharif.”
He found out that his master was busy visiting his devotees in a nearby village when arrived there. He continued his journey to the nearby village, and when his master finally saw him, he beamed with delight. After greeting his master, Hafiz Muhammad Hayat mentioned to him: “Master, these two people want initiation, so I have brought them to you.” “But it is up to you to initiate the

GENEROUS SOULS - DHIKR OF THE HEART
Shah Bahauddin Naqshband ق states: "The foundation of progress on this path rests on the breath."
In a small fishing village on the modern-day border of Pakistan and Kashmir, there once lived a renowned spiritual master, Hafiz Muhammad Hayat ق. More specifically, he was born near Jhelum. He dedicated his entire life to teaching people that the heart's true purpose was to always be conscious of God.
His father, Muhammad Bahadur, was a pious person who had decided to keep his spiritual state hidden from people. Hafiz Muhammad Hayat's early education was local. It was his practice from childhood to remain quiet and isolated instead of playing with other children.
He often went alone into the forest, and, from a very early age, he developed an immense passion for the Qur'an. He began to memorise it and his passion was such that at night he continued studying whilst all others slept. He would even tie his long hair to the ceiling to ensure he stayed awake.
To complete his memorisation process, he travelled to Dina, a nearby town. His teacher, Hafiz Khwajuddin, taught him to recite the Qur'an in the Hijaz dialect - the way the Prophet ﷺ recited it. His recitation was reportedly so beautiful that, during Ramadan, many learned people came to pray behind him.
Under his teacher's guidance, Hafiz Muhammad Hayat involved himself in one of the most effective dhikr methods by reading, understanding, and reflecting on God's words.

GENEROUS SOULS - BEAUTY
“Remember these words of advice - the Prophet ﷺ once said, “When you ask someone for help, ask from a beautiful face.”
By now, you should know that he is not alluding to beauty’s physical aspects but advising you to seek help from those who possess both inner and outer beauty. This greater combined aspect of beauty is always apparent within the Awliya - those pious people like Sayyid Isa Gilani ق.
We have often been instructed to say: ‘O God, You have made my appearance beautiful, now make my character beautiful.’ We should instead be aware of the purpose of our creation. God created us for beauty; now, our own responsibility is to ensure our character becomes beautiful.
To fulfil this duty, the Prophet ﷺ advises us to adopt the characteristics of God. Sayyid Isa Gilani ق was a prime example of a friend of God and manifested himself through such characteristics.
He was not attracted to physical beauty but lived his life in the constant presence of God. He was rewarded with a Divine dress that, even now as we speak, makes him even more beautiful.”

Shaykh Ismail Shah Bukhari ق
Shaykh Ismail Shah Bukhari ق
The Shaykh is linked to the Naqshbandi tariqah and is most famously known by the title of ‘Karma Wale Sarkar.’
Shaykh Ismail Shah Bukhari ق was born in India and hailed from a wealthy family. When he first met his spiritual guide Mian Sher Muhammad Sharaqpuri ق, he made the intention of taking baiyah and entering the spiritual path.
He was advised by the Shaykh that it was not possible for wealth and the path of faqiri to coincide together and that he would have to choose one over the other. Shaykh Ismail Shah Bukhari ق went and sold all his property and land and returned to the Shaykh.
Mian Sher Muhammad Sharaqpuri ق was pleased by this and accepted Shaykh Ismail Shah Bukhari ق as his student. After a short period of time he gave Shaykh Ismail Shah Bukhari ق five rupees and said this would be sufficient for him to manage his trips to and from the Shaykh and his home.
Many years later Shaykh Ismail Shah Bukhari ق became wealthy again. However he was now known by the title’Karma Wale Sarkar’ and was the hand through which many people left the attachment of this world and turned towards the spiritual path.
Once he was visited by a guest who asked him how and why someone on the spiritual path could accumulate so much wealth. Shaykh Ismail Shah Bukhari ق advised the man that he was once given 5 rupees by Mian Sher Muhammad Sharaqpuri ق and he was still living off the blessings of that money.

GENEROUS SOULS - BEAUTY
In our society, we maintain a limited understanding of beauty. The visual aspect of beauty attracts all the attention, be it the full moon, the rising sun, or a scenic image.
Sayyid Isa Gilani ق lived his life dedicated to the spiritual path, as he was a pious and righteous man. By refining his inner beauty, this quality manifested through his outward form. This is how the physical features of the awliya become such a transparent reflection of their inner being.”
“The awliya warn us that the most destructive acts are ones that stem from arrogance and pride. Not even a glimpse of God’s beauty is ever given to such people. Only when the heart frees itself from such vices are the eyes opened to notice beauty in every situation.
It is for this reason that the Prophet ﷺ explicitly warned against pride, saying: ‘A person with an atom’s weight of pride in his heart would not enter paradise, The atom is, of course, millions of times smaller than the coin I was just holding.”

Imam Suleiman al-Jazuli ق
The Shaykh was a scholar of great repute and knowledge. He was a spiritual guide and Master in the Shadhiliya Tariqah and had thousands of disciples. His greatest work and service to the world is his book the Dalayl al-Khayrat (Guide to Goodness) which is recited daily by people all over the world and is part of the daily litany in many Sufi Tariqah’s. The book is comprised of various prayers and salutations upon The Beloved Prophet ﷺ. Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi states that historically it has always been the most widely read book in the Muslim world after the Holy Quran and used to be found on the book shelves of every Muslim house.
The inspiration to compose the book came from a time when Imam Suleiman al-Jazuli ق once went on a journey, during the journey he felt the need to make ablution and he came across a well. The well had no bucket or rope with which he could easily draw water for ablution and there seemed to be no other way with which it could be done. Whilst the Shaykh was stood at the well a young girl came and spat in the well, after which the water rose to the top of the well of its own accord.
Witnessing such a miracle at the hands of such a young girl baffled the Shaykh and he asked, “And how is that possible?” The young girl replied “who are you?’ The Shaykh informed the girl who he was and she replied, “You are the man that is praised as being good, but is perplexed as to how to take out the water from the well? I was able to do this through my asking for blessings upon The Beloved Prophet ﷺ, Allah’s ﷻ blessings and peace be upon the him.”
May Allah ﷻ sanctify his secret and grant us the love of his Awliya.
