While on a survey our New Quay team encountered a large pod of common dolphins including this newborn calf who was feeding from its mother 🐬

Calves nurse through a specialised technique where they form a seal around their mother’s mammary slit, allowing them to feed while swimming. Nursing lasts up to 18 months, though calves may begin experimenting with solid food within the first few months. The bond between a mother and her calf is strong, with the mother providing protection, teaching social behaviours, and helping the calf learn to hunt fish and squid.

Our mulitipassenger boat the Ermol 5 is running 1 hour trips at 3:35pm, 4:45pm and 6pm
The Suncatcher is running a 1.5hr evening cruise at 5pm! With an uppder deck you have uninterrupted views of our beautiful coastline.
The Dreamcatcher also has 3 spaces left at 6:30pm, this boat is ideal for smaller groups, with a maximum capacity of 12, the Dreamcatcher offers a more intimate experience.
