Save the Date: National Whale and Dolphin Watch 2025! 🐬🌊

Join the Sea Watch Foundation from 26th July to 3rd August 2025 for a week-long citizen science event dedicated to observing and protecting whales, dolphins, and porpoises in UK waters.

How can you participate?

• Keep an eye out for cetaceans while you're at the coast! Observations from land are just as important!
• Register to do or join in on an official watch 🔭
• Registered participants will be invited to a free online training session covering cetacean identification, data collection, and responsible observation practices.

Why is this important?
The data you collect will give a valuable insight into the status and distrubution of cetaceans and being involved helps us to raise public awareness about these incredible whales, dolphins and porpoises 🐋

Northumberland National Park is beautiful under a touch of snow and frost but please be and plan your visit before you leave home.

Check you have the correct equipment for Winter. A torch is an essential as well as spare batteries. You will need to take extra layers with you so hat, gloves, and a fleece, as well as winter-weight boots with good grip.
