A traditional shepherdโs hut from the outside and an indulgent retreat inside โ with sumptuous soft furnishings and traditional finishes, it is like no other. Within this bespoke craftsman-built shelter is a romantic bed alcove with a sofa/double bed, kitchen and dining area along with your own private bathroom hut & outside space including off road car parking.
Our shepherdโs huts have been designed and built to exacting standards by Tony Brown, who has lived on the Tregothnan Estate for many years. His business came into being purely by chance. A builder by trade, he has constructed many eco projects, including a straw bale house. So when his partner said that it would be nice to have a shepherdโs hut to practice playing her music in, Tony decided that he would build her one himself. With no plans but memories from the film โFar From The Madding Crowd,โ Tony built the most beautiful hideaway.
We would now like to share our special sanctuary which reflects times gone by. Sleeping in our unique shepherdโs hut is one of the most unforgetable experiences you will ever haveโฆ

The Shearing Shed can be hired alongside its identical neighbour, The Herdsman Hut. Situated within the Lake District National Park, High Gregg Hall Farm in Underbarrow is just 15-minutes drive from Windermere and 10-minutes from Kendal.
A 5-minute walk away is the popular Black Labrador Pub, which offers fantastic food and a great choice of ales.
The 1-bedroom Glamping Pod is a stunning option for a relaxing or perhaps a romantic getaway from the busy town or city life. After a day out exploring the Lake District of walking on the fells, return to relax on the patio with a glass of wine, or perhaps a BBQ.
