Thereβs a new exhibition on at New Vic Theatre and itβs part of the Punjab to the Potteries project.
Photographic artist Sam Ivin has created 23 vibrant portraits of people from the Punjabi community in Stoke-on-Trent. Each person has shared their story with two playwrights who have been commissioned by Appetite and New Vic to write two 30-minute plays inspired by the journeys of local people whose families began their story in the Punjab region before settling in The Potteries.
Val Bansal who originated the idea behind the Punjab to the Potteries project, will also be displaying photographs of the local South Asian community.
On Saturday 12 August, you are invited to join us for a celebration and play reading event at the theatre. Both plays will be read in the auditorium by actors, and hopefully they will become full productions in the future! Tickets are free and can be booked via the New Vic box office in person or online at newvictheatre.org.uk
