Now in its Twelfth year in the UK, the campaign has grown significantly year on year encouraging millions to shop small.

It’s that time of year again! So I’m going to post EXACTLY what I did this time last year as the same is STILL true.

The amount of “Black Friday” travel offers can be overwhelming. Here are some of my top tips to help you find the best holiday for you and for the best value.

➡️ Black Friday or not, if a supplier gives a special rate I always pass that on to you. No ifs, no buts.

➡️Last minute offers generally don’t exist. Booking early is the best way to save money on your holiday

➡️ If it looks too good to be true, it might just be. Research reviews (not just the ones on a website) and read T’s and C’s

➡️ Look out for hidden fees. What appears to be a good deal at first can add up when you see the extra costs such as baggage, resort fees and taxes.

➡️ Avoid booking elements separately. It may reduce costs but it leaves you without any protection.

➡️ Act fast, prices you see today wont necessarily be the same tomorrow. If you see something you like - book it!

➡️ Book with a travel expert like me. Someone you trust and you can contact at anytime who has your best interests at heart.

That’a a wrap for this week.
Tomorrow I’m heading to Manchester for Travel Counsellors 2024 conference. During this weekend wr get to meet with suppliers, head office colleagues who provide us with company updates and each other to celebrate our successes from 2024 and plan for the year ahead.
With this in mind I will not be working on new enquiries now until Monday. I will check email etc as often as I can but I will be slower to reply than usual. In case of emergency (real ones that genuinely cannot wait until Monday) for clients travelling, Travel Counsellors Duty Office is available 24 x 7 and their contact details are on your paperwork.

This coming week, I will be working until Thursday evening and then on Friday morning I will be headed to Manchester for Travel Counsellors annual conference which is a time to spend with our valued suppliers, learn about company updates including technology designed to support you, and also to meet with colleagues including fellow business owners and colleagues from our support centre. It’s a highlight in our calendar, and this year is particularly special as it’s our 30th anniversary
