On Tuesday, we hand over the keys of beautiful Sea Shanty Cottage to its new owners 🙋‍♂️🙋

We are absolutely confident that the cottage is in good hands, and we are thrilled to tell you that they will be continuing to let it out as a holiday let 🏠

All bookings are being honoured! 🥳

On our part, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of our guests over the last two years 🙏 We can honestly say that you've all been such wonderful guests, we have truly been so fortunate 💗

We bought the cottage in April 2021, and our first guests arrived 30 days later. We redecorated, fully furnished, and set up all of the booking systems, website, all the legals, insurances, everything, in that time. It was HARD WORK! There was a lot of stress and a lot of tears! 😅

We refused to allow any agency or company do our changeovers. There was just no way that the level of personal care could be replicated. Last year, we moved house which meant that the round trip down to Newlyn became 60 miles 🚗 Coupled with children and a very busy and demanding career, it means that we need less "hands on" investments.

So... it's a goodbye from us. And we say that with such a huge sense of achievement and satisfaction. Thank you again for being part of that 💛

Switch-off in remembrance

Today, on the December 19th all of the Lights except the Millenium Cross on St Clements Island, the Cross and Angels on Raginnis Hill and the cross on the Penlee Lifeboat Station will be switched off from 8pm. The lights will be lit again on the 20th December at 5pm. This is in memory of the tragic loss of life that occurred on the same date in 1981, when the Penlee Lifeboat Solomon Browne was lost with all hands during a valiant attempt to rescue the crew and passengers of the coaster Union Star who also perished.

Newlyn Harbour Lights switch on is just getting better and better…how generous is this! ❤️🌲🌲

The wonderful Argoe will be open from 5.00pm to 9.30pm ~ no booking required, you can just drop in and out as you please.

They will have the bar open serving beer, wine and mulled cider, and will be cooking up fancy fish finger sandwiches on their own freshly baked bread. Fresh Newlyn fish and locally grown salad as always at Argoe! They be charging £7.50, £1 of which will be donated to the Harbour Lights.

The Boilerhouse Singers will be performing from 7-8pm. They’re a local five piece male voice choir, specialising in Cornish songs.

NEWLYN CHRISTMAS SWITCH ON Friday 9th December. Starting at 6pm 🎅🎅

🎄Christmas Switch-on 🎄

As a lot of people are asking via messenger, please spread the word that there won’t be a switch-on night this year. The lights will be gradually switched on from the 12th to 17th December, then they will all be lit each evening until the end of the first week of Jan.
