🐬 St Michael’s Mount is across the bay from Newlyn. Is an iconic island off Marazion beach. You can get across by boat if the tide is up or by the famous causeway when the tide is out. With its remarkable castle and gardens, this National Trust landmark is a must to visit. 🐬

🐬 Only 3.5 miles away from Newlyn you can find Marazion Marsh, which is a Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) reserve situated in a shallow river valley. It is separated from the coast by a shingle bar and small sand dune system and contains Cornwall's largest reed bed. 🐬 🐝🐛🦋🦉🦅🌳

Penzance town and Mousehole are also within walking distance. Newlyn is also a short drive to amazing landmarks like Porthcurno (Minack Theatre) and Marazion (St Michael’s Mount).
There are a number of coastal walks, and cycle tours, making Newlyn an ideal base for your Cornish retreat.

🐬 The Isles of Scilly are a somewhat remote yet stunningly beautiful island complex with fine beaches and tropical climate, located off the Cornish peninsula. You can bolt on a day visit to the Isles during your stay at Dolphin House via a 4hr ferry trip from Penzance or fly from Lands End airport which is a 15 mins drive from our apartment, you can leave your car there and return same day, flight time 20 mins to St. Mary’s. There is also a helicopter service which takes 15 minutes from Penzance Heliport. Alternatively, stay at Dolphin House to explore West Cornwall and then travel onto the Isles of Scilly for an extended stays. 🐬

🐬 Not long now for days like this! This was at Sennen Cove, which is only about 20 mins drive from Newlyn. In the right conditions is perfect for surfing. You can’t surf? Don’t worry, there is a couple of surfing schools there where you can hire the surfboards and wetsuits and have a lesson. 🐬

🐬 Gool Peran Lowen! Happy St Piran’s day! Nothing better than go for a walk in one of the most iconic Cornish beaches. Porthcurno is house of the amazing Minack Theatre. You can walk up from the sandy beach and have some lovely pics taken. 🐬

🐬 Porthgwarra is a picturesque fishing cove between Porthcuno and Lands End, and it’s only about 20 mins drive from Newlyn.
There is plenty of rockpools to explore (at low tide) and tunnels to discover. The Southwest Coast Path from Porthgwarra through to Porthcuno is only 1 and 1/4 miles.
There's a large carpark in the valley and a cafe/shop run by St Aubyns Estate. 🐬

🐬 Newlyn has 3 fantastic fish mongers to choose from all within a few minutes walk from Dolphin House. Fish and shellfish is some of the freshest and because of that, the tastiest you can get anywhere in the world. Fish for sale within hours from being landed only yards away from the harbour. From sea to plate, a low carbon and sustainable model. 🐬🐠⛴⚓️🦭🦀⛵️🚤

Dolphin House is just off Newlyn's 'main drag'. There is a cafe and pub close by and a small car park near, which is an ideal place to park once you arrive. Newlyn is a very pleasant place to visit with a harbour port and fishing boats, art galleries and independant shops to mooch around.
