How do you know you have reached the Cornwall / Devon boarder and therefore nearing one of our five lodges…? The nearly home trees. This group of over 100 beech trees is situated on the A30 and are known as grandmas trees, unicorn wood, fairy wood to mention a few. It was believed they were planted over 100 years ago and the stories behind why vary from practical to romantic. BUT, we love the reminder that we are nearly at our lodges
