A three-storey, four-bedroom Victorian terrace that has been in the same family for three generations since its construction in the 1890s. We took it on after moving back to Cornwall as an extensive renovation project, who doesn't love high ceilings, wood floors and lots
of space! Mixing original features with contemporary simplicity, we have enhanced the use of natural light, featured handcrafted carpentry and paired with splashes of colour, plenty of greenery and slowly adding original prints and photography. Comes with all the usual mod-cons, practical/peaceful outside space and the wood floors love sandy feet. Ground floor
A large airy double lounge with two areas for entertainment. Unlimited superfast broadband with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and all the other suspects. A second TV allows access to both TV and PS4 for the younger at heart. Plenty of books, board games and wet day activities. Downstairs WC
Kitchen/Diner
An open plan modern kitchen with a double American style fridge/freezer and large combination gas/electric cooking range. All the usual equipment, with integrated dishwasher and washing machine. Help yourself to any condiments, spices etc. An Echo speaker will keep you good company while cooking or contemplating. Double doors open out to an enclosed decking and back garden, perfect for both morning coffee and afternoon BBQs. Comes with a trampoline and access to both beach equipment and some outside gym gear for those that want to work on their beach bods or meet the day in 'cobra pose'. Second storey
Bedroom 1: A double bedroom set up with bunk beds. Bedroom 2: A double bedroom set up with a cabin bed (raised bed with desk underneath). Bedroom 3: A light neutral single bedroom and bed. The main bathroom is spacious and light with a separate shower and bath. We supply towels, condiments, toilet paper etc. Please bring your own beach towels. Third Storey
Features the main loft-style master bedroom with beautiful wood floors, plenty of light, uncluttered and peaceful decor. Comes with a handy basin, desk and blackout blinds. For a luxury night sleep, we have a brand new hybrid mattress with Egyptian cotton duvet and lush pillows.
• The Location
Perfectly positioned just outside Newquay's central town area, it's only a 5-minute walk down to the high street and easy access to shops, cafes, bars etc. Both Asda and Aldi are a few minutes walk away and access to both Morrisons and Sainsbury are only 5-minutes by car. But really it's about the seven Newquay bays! Towen, our closest beach is a short 10-minute walk, then you can wander across Great Western, Tolcarne and L***y to Porth on a low tide or the coastal path (also good for those runners!). World-famous Fistral beach is only a 5-minute drive with access to consistent surf all year round. Crantock, Holywell (think Poldark) and Watergate Bay are all within a 10-minute drive. So you're spoilt for choice! The peaceful boating lake and cafes are a 5-minute walk away and the quiet Gannel Estuary is perfect for high tide kayaking or low tide walks. Kayak is provided (although you will need roof racks!). Padstow is around 25-minutes north, St Ives is 40-minutes south and the Eden Project is 30-minutes to the east. With a burgeoning cafe and restaurant scene, there's a great variety of options within walking distance (we will leave a guide with some of our favs!).
• The Hosts
With roots from Cornwall, Jamaica, New Zealand and Cambridgeshire we think of ourselves as an international family and have made Newquay our home due to the amazing Cornish coast and access to quality surf and beautiful beaches. We have three crazy Cornish kids and an over-enthusiastic spaniel called Jago. The house does come with our Bengal cross cat called Juno, who cruises in and out (will be self-sufficient and on an auto feeder) and is extremely friendly and cuddly when the mood takes her. She will just require the odd topping up of water. Detailed information is given upon booking and please don’t hesitate to ask any questions, we're always happy to assist. We do balance a busy family life with work and the odd surf, so will generally check messages first thing in the morning and late afternoon.
