Here's a few highlights from a busy July, another record breaking month for us. Finally we are getting some good summer weather, just in time for the British school holidays. Thank you to all our lovely guests this year so far, and well done to Steve, Duncan and Pat for keeping up and getting great reviews!!
September is very nearly fully booked, but we still have openings in October. Don't forget if you book this year for next season you get this year's prices!

We've had an incredibly busy start to the season, and we finally saw some spring sunshine! The gardens are still in full bloom, and the wildflowers in the hedgerows and on the cliffs are amazing as usual!

After a long wet Winter, things are drying up and the spring Gardens are starting to bloom!

Due to high demand we are looking for an additional tour guide for the 2024 season. Candidates will be self employed and must have a good knowledge of Cornwall, a keen interest in history and wildlife and be happy to work flexible hours between April and October. You will need to get a suitable private hire vehicle and license.
Training will be given and your office will be the most beautiful parts of Cornwall everyday! 😉

On our 'Best of Cornwall' tour, we try to not only show you all corners of Cornwall, but also share the rich history of the county, including several great Gardens and Houses. Lanhydrock, built in the 1630's has a wealth of history, spanning over 300 years, and after the great fire of 1881 was restored and remodelled to include the latest fashions and conveniences including 7 kitchen rooms!
If the house wasn't enough, the surrounding gardens, woodlands and estate are breathtaking and are included in the Great Gardens of Cornwall and well worth a visit in Magnolia and Rhododendron season.

We are getting back into the swing of things with a busy September, we've had unseasonably hot weather followed by Thunderstorms so far! Well it wouldn't be Cornwall if the weather didn't keep us guessing!
We've still some availability for October if you are thinking of a last minute tour, and May 2024 is filling up fast, so please get in touch if you are thinking of booking a tour.

It's been a real mix of weather for July but we've kept busy and even managed a few days off to explore nearby Exmoor. We are nearly fully booked for September but still have availability for October if anyone's thinking of a last minute visit!
The first picture is the farmhouse used for Nampara on Poldark, it's on our Poldark 1 tour. Such a beautiful hidden corner of Bodmin moor!

Well, that was a really busy and enjoyable spring!! Steve, Duncan and I have been flat out showing off Cornwall in the sunshine. We are looking forward to a slightly slower few months before a busy looking Autumn.

It's been one of the longest, hottest dry spells in recent years! We've had some amazing views of flat turquoise seas and coastal wildflowers.
We need a little rain now to keep Cornwall green, but maybe not too much. 😉

It's all happening this spring with Tour Cornwall! We are pleased to welcome Duncan and David to our team to work alongside Steve and I, they are both excellent guides! We are busy getting the new cars licensed and logo'd and I'm out filming with the talented filmmaker Rich West, putting some promotional videos together.
It looks like we are going to have our busiest season ever, so please get in contact if you are thinking about a tour this year.
I've also found time to celebrate my 50th birthday with a nights camping and favourite walk on Bodmin Moor.

Another day out researching a new area for potential tours and Walks. The cliffs North of Boscastle are spectacular! Much higher than anything we normally see on our tours, but with that comes some serious climbing up and down the valleys. We finished the walk by heading up the Valency Valley to St Juliot's church, famous for its links with Thomas Hardy, where he was the architect in the restoration and met his wife, Emma Gifford. There's a stunning new etching on one of the windows by a local artist!

Not all caves around the Cornish coast are as they seem. This on at Stem Cove near Watergate Bay was once a lead mine and takes over a minute to walk from the back to the entrance. There's a shaft above it leading to a hole in the cliffs and 2 further unfinished tunnels leading under the coast path. In the summer months its very likely it was used for smuggling contraband into Cornwall, likely stored in the upper tunnels and removed under the cover of darkness. I visited the upper caves years ago and found an old bow saw and a wooden bucket used for tunneling, but it's not advisable... One slip and you'd be tumbling 100ft into the sea. Access to the cove and cave is by kayak or super low spring tide. #smuggling #mining #watergate bay #cave #cornwall #tourcornwall #poldark

Lovely summers day down at St Michael's Mount today, and good to see the boats are up and running again at high tide. Still no international tourists, so a quiet summer for me. I guess I'll just have to enjoy it. 🤷‍♂️🏄‍♂️

Happy New year to all! Here’s a video of the view from the famous North Cornwall cliffs the other day. This is Trevone, just along from where Poldark rides his Horse at Park Head... as you can see there’s a bit of a swell running! If anyone is thinking of booking a tour for 2020, we are running 3 cars again, but May is filling up fast. We are having a new website built at the moment, and we are adding a ‘Best of the West’ tour incorporating the Cotswolds, Bath, Glastonbury, Dartmoor, Salisbury and Stonehenge and of Course Cornwall! That should keep us busy! Bye for now.
