Thatched Cottage is a spacious detached six bedroom property set over two floors, comfortably able to accommodate up to twelve guests so it is suitable for a large family or a group of friends

The accommodation is a beautifully furnished converted restaurant set within the town of Kingsteignton, which is just two miles from Newton Abbot and 1 mile from Newton Abbot racecourse, centrally located for exploring the surrounding county. Spend some time unwinding in the open plan living and dining area on the ground floor which is light, airy and has plenty of room and home comforts for everyone to spread out. The living area has three large sofas, a 42” smart TV with freeview and a pre-paid Netflix account and the dining area has a large solid wood table with a bench and five chairs seating up to twelve guests. Perfect for a relaxing evening indoors when you’re not out exploring the delights of the local area. Next door, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to concoct a delicious dinner, including a dishwasher, an electric Rangemaster oven and hob, a separate electric oven and a separate 2 ring electric hob. There is a breakfast area with a table and six chairs, perfect for socialising whilst cooking a home-cooked meal. From the Living room three steps lead down to a separate games room area which houses a full-size pool table, a bar with stools, a gaming fruit machine (which is free to use with no prizes), a 40” smart TV with freeview and Netflix. The utility room next door has a washing machine and a tumble dryer. On the ground floor is an additional cloakroom area with a separate WC, sink and mirror, and then the room opposite has a shower cubicle and wash basin. Upstairs on the first floor, are six well furnished bedrooms which each having a smart freeview TV with netflix, bedside tables with lamps, a chest of drawers, hanging rail and a mirror. The first bedroom which has a king-size double bed has shared access to the family bathroom next door which has a shower over the bath, a heated towel rail, WC and wash basin set within a marble vanity unit. The second bedroom has a king-size solid oak double bed and an en-suite shower room with a shower cubicle, WC, wash basin and a mirror. The third bedroom is very spacious with a super-king double bed, dressing table with a mirror and chair and an en-suite shower room with a shower cubicle, WC and wash basin. The fourth and fifth bedrooms each have a set of zip and link beds which will be setup as two 3ft single beds by default but they can be linked together to form a super-king sized bed. The sixth bedroom showcases an emperor-size 7ft double bed, a dressing table with a mirror and chair plus an en-suite shower room with a shower cubicle, WC and wash basin. The garden is fully enclosed so it is great for pets and it features a five-seater Hydropool hot tub, a charcoal BBQ, two picnic benches on the lawn plus a small patio area with a bench great for enjoying your morning coffee or a Summer lunch. All bills are included, free Wi-Fi is provided, two dogs are welcome to stay in the property for no extra charge, a highchair and a travel cot can be provided on request however guests will need to bring their own bedding for the cot. Kingsteignton has a choice of shops, pubs, a variety of eateries and sporting facilities and the nearby towns and villages offer a variety of attractions to keep the whole group entertained. It’s a lovely area to spend when wanting to explore local life. Nearby Newton Abbott can be reached from the doorstep along the walking and cycling path which takes you through the Hackney Marshes a pleasant nature reserve. The ancient market town now offers plenty of modern shops, both local, well-known high street chains and six leading brand supermarkets. There's also a racecourse where National Hunt racing takes place from spring until autumn, with craft fayres during the winter. There are a number of beaches within easy driving distance including those at Teignmouth, Torquay and Paignton which also has a popular zoo. Spend a day on the beach building sand castles and walk the impressive Victorian Pier at Teignmouth. The highlight of your stay will undoubtedly be the stunning beaches around Torquay and the many hidden coves such as Meadfoot, Oddicombe and further afield the pretty Ness Cove. And of course, the South West Coast Path provides stunning seascapes across the bay, with a popular stretch from Torquay Harbour to Daddyhole Plain. The Dartmoor National Park is nearby where you can enjoy walking, cycling, horse riding, climbing and canoeing which is sure to provide an exciting day out amongst the rugged and stunning scenery. You can see the ponies, walk the Tors or simply stop off in one of the many villages for a Devon cream tea. For the children, there is Crealy Adventure Park or Go Ape in Haldon. If you are bringing a bicycle, there are many cycle ways off road, including Powderham Castle where there is a cycle track all along the estuary. There is also no shortage of day-trip destinations, including the Round Robin Bus Trip, Paignton Zoo, Woodlands Adventure Park, Babbacombe Model Village and Kents Cavern. From the M5, continue onto Devon Expy/A38 and use the left two lanes to turn slightly left (signs for A380/Torquay). Continue onto A380 for 8.1 miles. Take the A381 exit towards Teignmouth and continue for 0.3 miles. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Teignmouth Rd/A383 and continue for 0.3 miles. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Longford Ln and continue for 0.5 miles. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Crossley Moor Rd and continue for 0.3 miles until you see the sign for Thatched Cottage on the right hand side. The front door is on Crossley Moor Rd, number 9, and the private parking area and the back door are accessed by turning into the carpark entrance off Crossley Moor Rd. There is plenty of free off-road parking at the back of the property for up to ten cars.
