Holaaaa 🇪🇸 finally I’ve got around to posting my Valencia recommendations!

It’s a brilliant choice for a city break, is very affordable and has the best of both worlds! You can can shop till you drop, spend a day sightseeing and then chill out by the beach all day!

1. Top tip number 1 is a speaking a little basic Spanish goes a long way! Valencia is a very typically Spanish city (sounds silly I know) but English isn’t widely spoken so brush up on duo lingo before you go!

2. Visit Plaza de la Virgin & Plaza de la Reina - all parts of the old city are beautiful. There are many bars, restaurants, coffee shops to sit in the square and enjoy a sangria in the sun!

3. Visit the Aquarium- must do if you have kids travelling with you. It costs 40€ per adult & 28.50€ per child (under 4’s are free). It’s a brilliant day out and offers a rest bite from the intense heat. I would describe it like an ocean zoo! It’s much much larger than any aquarium I’ve every visited before.

4. Head to the beach 🏝️ Valencia beach is STUNNING we spent the day (children are welcome but not allowed use of the pool) it was lovely, relaxed and we also went on the beach and took the kids in the sea. One of my favourite days we had away this trip!

5. Shopping 🛍️ is great in the city. Lots of Spanish brands like Zara, Bershka, Mango etc but I found the prices were cheaper than the UK. Definitely worth spending half a day exploring the shops. The main shopping street is called Colon and there is a metro station located at the top of the street so really easy to get too. All public transport in the city is reliable & cheap so a great way to get around!

Snippet of our 48 hours in ✨

We’ve become quite the Disney pro’s now so here’s my top tips!

1. Download the app, link your reservation so you can book all of your Disney experiences and keep track of ride wait times and parade times.

2. Book as much in advance as possible - dining reservations, character meals & premier access if you can.

3. If you want to meet Spider-Man or other Marvel Superheroes in Avengers Campus then you need to join the virtual queue for the hero training academy. You MUST be in the park to do this & the time slots are 10am & 2pm so be on it promptly!

4. Utilise your magic time well (if you’re staying in a official hotel then you have access to the park 1 hour before it opens to the public). This is the time to do those big wait time rides such as: Crush’s Coaster, Spider-Man Web Adventure, Hyperspace Mountain & Big Thunder Mountain.

5. During busy times like school holidays ride wait times are a lot less between 4-7pm as this is when a lot of families with young children will have dinner- so another good time to do those popular rides!

Here they are my Venice recommendations!

We stayed at the fabulous The St. Regis Venice] if you are looking for a luxurious modern 5* hotel in Venice then the St Regis is the one!
Most hotels in Venice are very dated & traditional style but the St Regis is very recently renovated and is honestly immaculate. I’ll post more on the hotel separately but it was 10/10!

We travelled to and from the airport by private water taxi and it was probably one of my most favourite things we did! You really do feel like you’re in a movie arriving in style. We didn’t pre-book & there was no need too. It is pricey but so so worth it.

I would highly recommend booking your activities in advance as there are queues to enter the Basilica, Doges Palace and we also saw long queues for Gondola rides (especially at golden hour!)
🛶 🌊 ⛪️

We pre-booked to go up the Campanile (bell tower) for only 12€ and it’s a must do as the view was amazing.
We also pre-booked our Gondola ride as we wanted to do it just before sunset and we agreed it was such a good idea! We skipped past a huge queue & were taken straight to our gondola with a bottle of chilled Prosecco waiting (we had lots of envious looks!)

All the food we had was amazing my top recommendations are Gio’s restaurant The St. Regis Venice] we had both lunch & dinner and it was exquisite on both occasions!
Highly recommend for a lovely dinner near Rialto. It’s in a perfect spot to watch the gondoliers go about their work and soak up the atmosphere of the city. Food was really reasonable considering the location and was of really good quality.
Our favourite spot for a spritz & cichetti was just around the corner from St Marks Basilica - aperol spritz or a glass of wine was only 4.50€ and we spent both afternoons here people watching & sinking several spritz’! We did go to the famous Florians but in all honesty I wouldn’t bother! Such a shame as it was somewhere I was looking forward to. We were well aware of the prices but the service was really disappointing and you are on edge from being attacked by all the birds!
