In 2017 Mark was lucky enough to be able to buy one of these rarely available older style lodges at Finlake - we are refurbishing it to the highest standard to create a luxury hide away for us, holiday makers, friends and family. We feel especially fortunate that we will be able to make the lodge available to our paediatric cancer family friends - more about this when the lodge is in a better stat

Our Story

Aspen Lodge, or Lodge 16, at Finlake Holiday Resort is one of only a couple of A-frame lodges that were recently refurbished throughout. This lodge is our holiday home that we offer for rental at certain times of the year. We have put in a lot of thought to keep the lodge's woodland charm and open, treetop feel, and updated it to include a brand-new German kitchen, luxurious bathrooms, comfortable mattresses and bedding, underfloor heating downstairs, eco-friendly chalk wall paint, an outdoor kitchen & furniture, and top of the range hot tub.

We wanted to have a place for us to take our children (all five of them, from toddler to older teen), and have a hideaway from the hectic life we live. Being able to offer Aspen Lodge to you as our guests fills us with joy - we are so happy we can share what we have created with you. We hope you love it as much as we do - and we look forward to your feedback to make staying there even better (as we are sure we can always improve!).

During 2017 and 2018, we made good progress with the refurbishment of the lodge. One bathroom added upstairs, comprising beautiful Sottini bathroom furniture, and one wetroom downstairs - both completely new. The outdoor space has been improved with the addition of a huge deck to house an outdoor kitchen with BBQ and bar seating, and a 6-person hydropool, and new outdoor furniture. Upstairs, we have opened up the master bedroom to take advantage of the light and view, a previous small window has been replaced with ceiling to floor french doors and a glass Juliette balcony, opening the room to stunning views of the Devon countryside.

Finlake Holiday park itself has a brandnew leisure complex - from a lifeguarded baby swim area, to two 70m flumes, a high end gym and a vast number of daily classes, there is so much to do - and that is aside from all the outdoor activities!
