Our Story
Having run a self-catering cottage business for some 10 years, we recently moved into the cottage as our permanent home, and have bought a beautiful static caravan at nearby Monreith Sands Holiday Park, where we continue to welcome visitors to this beautiful area.
The caravan is equipped to a very high standard, with gas central heating, and includes a recently installed log burner for added cosiness on a cool evening. The Park is very quiet, with lovely views across Luce Bay to the Mull of Galloway and the Isle of Man - on a clear day, you can even catch a glimpse of the Irish Coast. Just outside the main gate, a path leads down to the picturesque beach - even in the height of Summer you can often enjoy this all to yourself! For golfers, the course at St Medans is less than 5 minutes drive away, and enjoys fantastic views in all directions.
The mobile home has a good-sized double bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, opening onto a jack and jill shower room. There is also a small twin bedroom with additional wardrobes - however, we are only accepting bookings from a maximum of 2 people (no children under 16 please). The open plan living area includes a comfortable lounge and well-equipped kitchen.
There is a launderette on site, and the resident wardens are on hand to help with any queries and are always happy to chat! There is no shop or bar on the site, however, nearby Port William has a well-equipped small shop for your basic needs, and a cafe (run by volunteers on behalf of the local lifeboat) overlooking the harbour, which is open for alcoholic drinks in the evenings throughout the season. Other shops and facilities can be found within easy reach in Whithorn, the Isle of Whithorn or Wigtown (Scotland’s National Booktown).
