That's Christmas, New Year, Good Friday and Early May Bank Holiday 2025 booked 🤯🤯we are so grateful to you all for choosing us and supporting us.
Running Nordlys has certainly made me realise how disorganised I am 😅

When we had this window installed and chose the name Nordlys (Northern lights) we would say to eachother imagine being lay in bed seeing the Northern lights through it. Thinking it would never happen. I still can't believe it did and how lucky I was to be there to witness it 😍😍

"Huge safe garden" 🐶 exactly what we like to hear 😁 I even remembered to take some pics of the new steps and gates on the lower area, perfect for those night time wee's when you don't want to be walking round the garden in the dark trying to find them 😅

We listen and take all of your feedback onboard and won't hide away from the less than perfect ones 💚

Admittedly, although grateful it was private, the airbnb one hurt 🤣 as those of you who follow us will know we stay here as often as we can and love it. As do our family and friends. It's not 100% perfect, who's house is? And we have to try and make the space and value work equally for a party of 1 as we do a party of 6. I'm not quite sure what the niggles are, but we know we're never going to please everyone, as much as we'd love to and will keep trying to!

But feedback we've had a few times now was about the bed being a bit creaky. We can promise it wasn't broken, it's just that part metal frame wasn't our finest choice 🤦🏻‍♀️ we're still learning and know now not to only go for aesthetics 😅 so after a good days work we now have another lovely solid but silent bed 🥰

Also very thankful that the review from the stay immediately following this one wrote they had nothing to fault in our guestbook and nothing negative on their online review. Positive feedback really makes our day 🥰💚

I love that additional bird feeders keep appearing or are being moved around, so we know we have very kind guests who are enjoying the garden birds and keeping them well fed 😁 thank you 💚

Wow. Last night was pretty special.

I said I'd time it right and be here to catch them one day. Lady Aurora certainly saved her best show for me 😍

I've been lucky enough to see them before in Iceland, Norway and Shetland. But I've never seen them so pink by the naked eye 💗

And to witness the strongest they've been in 20 years at our little cottage, in the back garden with my dogs. I was feeling like the luckiest girl in the world last night 💚

Wow we have just had our first 2025 booking 🤯🤯
I clearly need to get more organised when booking our own hols, which I usually do a few weeks before max 🤣

Is anyone else this organised?! We have also had another booking for October this week so only have the end of Oct and some of Nov and Dec left for this year. I think this includes Oct school hols and bonfire night so be quick if you'd like these dates 💚

A few more photos from our viewing trip 3 years ago, and some of property option No.2, but our cottage had already stolen my heart 💚☺️ looking forward to being there again towards the end of this week to do some painting whilst we have a couple of steps fitted in the garden 😀

3 years to the day that I decided to pack up with my dogs, booked us a caravan for the weekend and a hotel for the night and drove 3.5hrs to view a couple of properties that had just come up for sale. (After having 1 fall through and 1 where we had our viewing cancelled as it sold before our appointment)

I saw it on facebook and almost wasn't allowed to view, as before it had even gone on the website it had received 15 viewings and 2 verbal offers. But I wasn't taking no for an answer so off I went 🤣

Here's just some of the 1000s of photos I sent Luke, knowing we'd need to put an offer in before he'd get chance to see it 😅 they were rushed photos as there was a queue of people parked up waiting for their viewing after me...

Much older, smartly dressed individuals who probably had a much better idea of how much more work and investment was going to be required than me, giddy and naive, parked on the drive in my little corsa I had, with my 2 little terriers on the front seat barking at them 🤣🤣

I don't really remember much of what I saw inside. I think because it seemed rushed and I was so busy taking photos and videos to send to Luke. But I do remember the feeling I got when I pulled onto the drive, came out of the other end of the crumbling car port and saw the view of the back garden open up with the sun beaming onto the forest trees behind ☺️💚

We were disappointed to find Raider's Road closed yesterday due to forestry work, but it's never hard to find a nice quiet spot for a picnic 🥰💚

*Luke was weighing up if his van would make it across the river to the other side but thankfully decided against it 🤣
