If there was a page where I could recommend guests, I'd certainly recommend our last family 10/10. To say The Cabin was left clean is an understatement. Thank you to all our guests who leave The Cabin spotless. It's so much appreciated and makes change over day much less stressful ๐

Feel free to leave any thoughts in our suggestions box. Although not all suggestions are viable for us (mostly for financial reasons) if it's something we can change for the better we will.

Whenever possible, I will always try to offer an early check-in or late check out at no extra cost to you.
During the summer holidays and peak times, it is not always possible as our bookings are back to back.
Normal times are check-in at 3pm and check out at 10am. I know this can sometimes feel early compared to some hotels, but to ensure I have sufficient time to clean and have everything ready for our next guests, your prompt departure is much appreciated.

Book a 1 or 2 hour session, a day trip or have a look at their upcoming special events.

We have a charcoal BBQ with a chimney at The Cabin. All you need to bring is the charcoal, your favourite BBQ food and you're good to go.

She is not a family member so please let me know if your not a cat person, but if your happy for her to tag on to your staycation great.
We have a beautiful bluebell wood in the field infront of the cabin.
Please feel free to venture in to the field and down to the wood at the bottom through the 2nd gate. If your lucky enough you may even catch a glimpse of some Highland cows at the very bottom in tbr adjoining field. ๐ฎ
If you have a dog please keep it on a lead when the sheep are in the field and be mindful not to let them escape the main gate.

Remember to bring a pack custard creams or jacobs crackers with you & they'll love you forever ๐ฅฐ
I always feel super nervous when 1st time guest are due at The Cabin..

One of our favourites of the holidays so far...
Devils Bridge falls is a world-famous tourist attraction in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains and 12 miles from the seaside town of Aberystwyth. These unique waterfalls have attracted many thousands of visitors since the 18th century. There are two walks to pick from.
1. Punchbowl & 3 bridges - a 20 minute moderate walk or 2. Nature trail, waterfall & 3 bridges - this ones not for the faint hearted, a difficult 45 minute walk with near vertical steps down to the bottom and remember what goes down must go back up ๐ฅต
Granted this one is a little over an hours drive but its well worth it.
Fairbourne, Gwynedd.
Park in the village and catch the steam train to the beach. Ride on an inside or open carriage, personally we go for an open carriage as we love the smell from the smokestack ๐
Once at the beach you can either watch the crowds at Barmouth from the sands, or join them for a bit of crabbing by a quick ferry trip across the water.
Montgomery Castle ๐ฐ (Welsh: Castell Trefaldwyn) is a stone built castle looking over the town of Montgomery in Powys, Mid Wales and only a 30 minute drive from The Cabin.
You can park in the town and brave the steep hill to the castle or use the carpark located at the entrance of the castle grounds.
While in Montgomery dont forget to visit the 'Aladdins Cave' known as Bunners a fantastic little shop stocking everything from Stanley Cookers, Quad Bikes & Woodburning Stoves to Kitchenware and Giftware.

The humble beginnings of The Cabin Cefn Mawr.
15 years ago a donkey shed was knocked down and replaced with The Cabin.
The Cabin was my home until we out grew it with two little boys so it will aways hold a special place in my heart.
I now share my little piece of heaven with solo travellers, couples, friends and families in the hope others can enjoy the home from home feeling and the fantastic views ๐ก
We have joined forces with cottages.com ๐

We've had a little change at The Cabin. The single room now has 2 full size single beds rather than a single and pull out ๐๐
Unfortunately this did mean the removal of the corner wardrobe and mirrors ๐ข.
Just a few more finishing touches a bedside tables, mirror on the wall and a hanging rail and it will all be finished.
I'm hoping this is a welcomed changed ๐ค

I love line dried washing, there is a smell that you just can't get from a tumble dryer.
