Toyota leading the way as always.

Neither Electric, nor hydrogen seems to be the future...

New fuel and engine generation unveiled to the world...in the progressively dynamic automotive industry with cutting-edge technological advancements, issues of environmentalism have presented numerous developments.

While electric vehicles (EVs) have gained some traction, China’s Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC), has unveiled a groundbreaking alternative: the engine plausibly runs on ammonia using an internal combustion engine.

This development puts into question the concept that battery electric vehicles are the solution to the automotive industry’s supposed "carbon emission problem".

The proposed prototype engine of is a radical change in the development of motors mainly driven by fossil fuels. It is a flammable, environment-friendly fuel that can be obtained by liquidising ammonia (NH3) and possibly mixing other ingredients to form a perpetual fuel blend.

EMMA IS BACK, at the 7th Round of the N.Ireland Sprint Championship on Saturday the 23rd September at Nutts Corner Race circuit. A massive entry for this round with over 80 Competitor car’s.

The all important weather reports are the deciding factor for tyre choices and thankfully rain was not expected until late afternoon.Tyres were changed to semi slick and pressure’s set for practice run. All necessary checks were done over the few practice laps before the main event.
First official timed laps saw Emma post a steady time and not far off her best ever lap time at this circuit. Her lap times continued to improve throughout the day with little difference between all lady competitors.

The sky started to cloud over and track temperature started to drop at the start of the last official laps, with this in mind it was important to get out on track to post a good time in case rain would fall. After consulting her Team Principal (her dad) before her last competitive run, “What time do I need to do to win the lady’s class today" , one second was the reply. So with this in mind and knowing that to find another second would mean beating her lap record, she was up for the challenge.

She sped off the line with determination in her mind, tidy lines and staying of kerbs she swiftly made progress and with the finish line in sight she kept the pedal to the floor, however, this meant she couldn’t make the corner carrying such speed and ended up beaching the car in the grass and gravel!! It took 5 Marshall’s to lift and push the car back onto the track, but all she wanted to know was if Patsy was ok and did I make up a second? Well not only did she make up a second, Emma broke her lap record by 2 seconds and took 1st Prize in the lady’s class. An excellent result for the day and has pulled her back into contention for the N.Ireland Lady’s Sprint Championship trailing by one point.

So after some inadvertent “off roading ” it’s back to McKay’s Motorworks for Patsy, to check for any damage and prepping for next event.

CALVIN IS BACK!

Race report,

With calvin back in the hot seat after a long three months off due to injury the team set off for some practise on Friday night. On Friday night the car felt good, however there was a small misfire which developed as the practise night went on.. the team changed the coil leads and coil pack, however this made no difference which then resulted in the team stripping and cleaning the fuel pump which got rid of the issue!!

Saturday was race day one out of two for team 105. This was the day calvin would compete for the Ironman trophy! So the two heats would determine where he placed in the final, so with a bit of pressure calvin strapped himself in for heat one.. heat one calvin secured a 9th out of a 22 car race.. however calvin Felt that the tyres could have been better so for heat two the tyres where changed.

Heat two had a rocky start as just before lining up Calvin’s clutch cable broke so the team changed it quickly in order to get him out on track to take part in heat two…. It was another race with 22 cars on the track calvin got of to a veryyyy bad start in this heat, he discovered that this gearing issue he had in Cowdenbeath returned after touring for a few seconds calvin ended up 20th car. However once he found the gear the car was on rails!! “It felt fast” and calvin drove his way back to 12th on the grid.

The final on Saturday was postponed until Sunday.. as a result of this we changed the clutch which calvin thought would help clear the gearing issue..

Sunday was race day two for calvin and team 105, the first race of the day was the Ironman trophy.. calvin secured a 5th row outside starting position from qualifying heats the day before.. calvin started this race in second gear as he was still having gearing issues after changing the clutch at track. Calvins place in the race fluctuated as it was a very lively race!! However calvin managed to secure a 2nd and bring home some silver wear! He also got a run on the pace car and smiled 😂😂😂😂

Heat 1 on Sunday was a 21 car race, calvin managed to finish 5th however during the later part of the race with about ten laps to go Calvin’s tyres went off and caused a bad tail. After the race he changed tyres to sort this issue. Calvin also Changed his gear stick after heat one to see if it would get rid of the gear selection issue..

Heat two the gear stick change did not help resolve the issue as a result calvin toured for half a lap before being able to select a gear. However he managed to get a 13th despite the issue..

The final on Sunday calvin was unable to select gears at all and had to pull in off the track resulting in him not placing in the final.

Overall calvin and the team had a brilliant race weekend and we look forward to our next outing on the 15th October
