North Weald Marshallers To provide air-side support to aviation events through the provision of experienced aircraft marshals, refuellers and air-side operations support personnel

We are a group of aviation enthusiasts from North Weald who are willing to support aviation events, air-shows, Fly-ins and Rallies. The team have actively supported events at North Weald Airfield for over 25 years and have been integral to organising the Air-Britain Fly-In and other events at North Weald for the last 10 years. We have increasingly provided support for events across the UK and more

recently in Europe. A full list of events we have supported, outside of those at North Weald, is listed below. All our team have completed a training course led by the BAA chief training officer from Heathrow covering aircraft Marshalling Theory and Practical Awareness. Some of the team work air-side at some of the largest UK airports, so together with our extensive practical experience it enables us to adopt a “professional” approach to our all activities. We have been independently commended on our activities.

“I cannot run the show without the help of these guys”

Paddy Casey (AeroExpo / Aviation Expo)

“A very professional team”

David Poile MBE (Children in Need Airshow, Little Gransden)

Our commitment is to give North Weald events priority, but we are willing to participate at other events.

Stow Maries 12/10/2024

This was our final event of this year. So thanks to Ian and all the volunteers at Stow Maries for making us welcome as usual.

With all 45 incoming slots booked and a good weather forecast. The hopes were high for a busy day.

But the day was overcast grey but not to cold the rain held off to the end of the fly-in.

With only 17 aircraft able to make it in and with plenty of people through the gate. It turned into a very pleasant and enjoyable day for all involved.

A well organised event with lots for the kids to do, except flying!

The morning saw heavy fog / mist shrouding the airfield, by the time it had cleared only two visitors arrived.

By 15.00 it had lifter and was all go to get as many kids airborne as possible. Just under 80 were took flying by 19.00 when it was sunset, and time to pack up.

Thanks go to Andre for all his hard work, better luck with the weather next year. Looking forward to it.

After a couple of year`s break. The LAA Rally was held at Leicester (EGBG) 29th August to 1st September 2024.

A big Thank You to Leicester Aero Club and all thier staff, for putting up with us and making us feel very welcome, also the LAA staff from the CEO to all the volunteers, thank you.

Blessed with good weather and a more than healthy turn out of aircraft, just under 580 aircraft were logged including a good number from oversea`s, great atmosphere with all the enthusiast`s being very co-operative as well.

Looking forward to next years rally.

This years "Children in Need" Airshow took place on 28/08/24 at Little Gransden Airfield.

Due to high crosswinds and grey skies, it kept the visitor numbers well down.

Also some of the display aircraft were affected and were no show`s, but in difficult conditions a good show was put on for all that attended.

Stow Maries "Propwash" took place on Sunday 18th August 2024.

Good weather, a full program was completed with nearly all the slots taken.

A good size crowd was kept entertained.

Highlight of the day was the arrival of the Klemm L25 with only 10 hours flight time since 1935 !!!

East Kirkby Airshow took place on Saturday 3rd August.

Again this year the weather didn`t play ball with low cloud and drizzle for the early part of the day, curtailing the number of visiting aircraft.

Eventually the weather cleared and a full airshow took place with only a few cancellations in the running order.

A sellout crowd enjoyed a great day out, as did we.

Old Buckenham Airshow 27-28th July is one of the highlights of the season.

With a rich diversity of aircraft on display from electric aircraft to fast modern RAF jets.

A sold out show on 27th saw Typhoon and F35 Lightning showing off the versatility and with warbirds thrown in for good measure kept the packed crowd entertained.

One worth buying a ticket for next year !

We covered the "Festival of Flight" at Old Warden for three days, 28th-30th June.

Always nice to be asked to help out here. With Friday being an evening airshow and hoping for the Edwardians to fly, but alas the breeze was to much for these vulnerable aircraft, but a good show in the evening sun.

Saturday and Sunday there were also airshows as well and very enjoyable they were too. With a scattering of visiting aircraft on all three days, all needing to be parked up.

Some very interesting aircraft arriving kept us on our toes !!

Thanks to JdM for the invite.

It is with great sadness that we post the passing of Michael Anderson on Friday 12th July, after loosing the battle against cancer.
Michael was a keen photographer and drone pilot, who loved his aviation, from the early days at The Squadron, North Weald to latterly at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome.
A keen marshaller always willing to help out. He will be sorely missed by us all.
From friends past and present.

Blue skies Michael. (1963-2024)

The Thursday being the busiest nearly 200 movements for "Ladies Day".

This years Blackbushe Air-Day 15/06/24 was very wet at times and curtailed a lot of the static and visiting aircraft from attending.

The star of the show N98TP Grumman Albatross HU-12B arriving on the Friday from it`s base at Southampton.

With the King`s fly-past the same we were lucky to get a 3 ship flypast from the RAF Chinooks. Better luck next year ? Hopefully the weather will play ball next year .

Tickets for this event were sold out in advance so a good attendance was on the cards.

Stow Maries 08/06/2024

We had a fly-in at this historic airfield with a reduced landing fee.

21 visiting aircraft made it in and with a lot of people through the gate which made this a success for Stow Maries.

They hope to have another one later in the year.

A chance for pilots and visitors to get together and enjoy the Summer at our Museum.
Calling all aviation fans - or even, complete strangers to aviation!

Our Summer Fly-in is a perfect chance to catch a peak at the aircraft that fly throughout our area, all the time raising vital funds for our museum.

As you enjoy your visit to our site, strolling around the galleries and exhibitions, aircraft will be landing and parking up with metres of you on our flight line.

While there will be no aerial displays, this a great chance to see our museum at its best - with aircraft rolling down the strips.

Not only do you get to enjoy the aircraft, but your admission gains you all the benefits of enjoying our award-winning exhibitions, hangars and tours. All for the regular admission fee!

All Air activity is weather-dependant.

If you think you would like a spot at our event, please do let us know!

We accept Single-engined, Fixed wing aircraft (no Rotary or dual-axis controlled aircraft) and would love to hear from you.

Reduced landing fee is available, too!

PPR MUST be arranged in advance and spaces will fill up quickly.
