We've had an immense Record Store Day 2024 & are so grateful for the massive support that everyone has shown today in making this a wonderful event. Big thanks to all who've visited today & to the bands & DJ's whose performances have added an extra layer of exhilaration! We are open tomorrow, Sunday 21st April from 11am until 4pm, so if you missed out on visiting today & want to have a look at what is in stock we'd love to see you.

Tomorrow Friday 24th Nov is Black Friday Record Store Day which we'll be celebrating here at Spunout with loads of limited edition vinyl releases that come out specially for the day. Lots of big bands & artists including U2, The Beat & Olivia Rodrigo have pressed exclusive records to add their support to independent record shops worldwide & there are plenty of items that will make excellent Christmas presents for the music lover who has everything. We hope you can join us from 10.30am for what promises to be a great day.

Friday 24th November is a big day for us here at Spunout as it's the Black Friday Record Store Day & in support of Independent Record Shops worldwide a great batch of limited edition records & Cds are being released. There are rarities from big artists such as The Beat, Linkin Park, Prince & The Doors as well as rising stars such as Olivia Rodrigo & many more, all to be purchased physically on the 24th instore. We've had a great National Album Day listening to 90s classic albums, thank you to everyone who's popped in. Coming up next week we have Northampton's rising talent Freya Rose playing a live showcase for the album launch of "Girlhood" starting from 2pm. Please pop in for what promises to be a top event!

Tomorrow, Saturday 14th October, is National Album Day 2023, a special day designed to encourage everyone to take in album releases in their entirety as the art pieces they are designed to be. Many long players are envisaged as an ordered flow of music with artwork & liner notes intended to enhance this experience & National Album Day is one to sink into this concept, stick an album on & let everything about it take you away. This year has a suggested theme of the Nineties & there are a lot of limited edition classic (or previously hard to get) 90's vinyl being released, including tasty Lps from James, Blur, Paul Weller & Wu-Tang Clan amongst many others. We'll have a great selection of these instore alongside meny other classic 90s albums & will be playing some of our favourite 90's albums completely in the shop. We hope that you can join us for a listen & a chat.

Coming up on Saturday 14th October is National Album Day, designed to encourage everyone to take on board complete Lps as an artistic statement by the acts involved. Many albums are designed as immersive environments where the music & lyrics are supplemented by the graphic art to take those who are willing away into another world & as such are much more than a stream of suggested tracks. The National Album Day is a great prompt to do just that & get transported by complete long players with this year's recommended theme of 90's releases being a nice focal point. In encouragement of this many artists are releasing limited edition vinyl albums on the 14th October, some of which have been very hard to get in the past. This gives us a chance to check out the full vinyl experience of great releases from artists such as Blur, Garbage, Paul Weller, Wu-Tang Clan, Jeff Buckley & The Corrs amongst many others, the full list of which can be found on the National Album Day website here https://www.nationalalbumday.co.uk/news/national-album-day-announces-lineup-of-exclusive-90s-releases-reissues-to-coincide-with-annual-event-on-saturday-14th-october/ If anything is of interest to you please do let us know so that we can get enough copies to go around.
