"Puglia is an amazing area with beautiful architecture and stunning scenery. From picturesque Monopoli to Locorotondo, officially, one of the prettiest towns in Italy , where we enjoyed some very tasty wine and then a visit to Alberobello, a village filled with the typical Trulli houses, there is so much to see. I particularly enjoyed Matera, an absolutely stunning town, the guided tour was really interesting, however I had so much fun at the breadmaking session, the bakery staff were brilliant and the bread excellent and tasty. Such a great end to our trip. The "James Bond" bridge is also worth a visit on the optional walk in Gravina and it was fun to use the train to get there!"

"Paul and I are old school friends and we’ve been going for a week’s walking almost every year ever since, mostly in the UK - Lake District, North Wales, Offa’s D**e. As we’re getting on a bit (we’re both 68 now) we thought we’d branch out and go walking abroad this year. Paul had used Headwater for a couple of holidays with his family with great results and neither of us had been to the Dolomites before. I can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable holidays we’ve ever had, largely thanks to the seamless behind the scenes organisation by Headwater. So thank you!"

Have you been to Corsica?

"From the moment you land in Corsica you feel the regions’ proud identity and as the week proceeded you could understand why: from the high-quality produce to the pristine white sand beaches, Corsica offers something to everyone. For me, the highlight of the trip was cycling from Centuri to Saint-Florent. You start your day in Centuri, a picture-postcard fishing port, where you can admire the local houses adorned with roof tiles sourced from nearby rock, shimmering in various colours under the sun. The cycle along Cap Corse boasts endless spectacular coastal views and villages. A must stop is Nonza, where you can visit Nonza tower and rest for a refreshment in the local café built around the rocks, offering stunning views of the Golfe of Saint Florent.”

Have you visited the Channel Islands?

"Just like heaven...A flower carpet all along our walk on the the coastal path where at every turn we were amazed by the natural beauty of these islands. Lagoon blue water, green landscapes and a fairy tale of colourful flowers everywhere. Spring is definitely the best time to explore these hidden gems. We fell in love for the peaceful Sark: a unique tiny island car free where every corner is a perfect picture postcard. In Guernsey, we also explored the inland by bike which has offered another dimension to this wonderful experience. We all promised ourselves : We will come back!"

"We have just returned from an amazing trip to Scotland. From the rugged Highlands to the serene lochs, every path was like a journey through a postcard. The Rob Roy way was a highlight - challenging but oh so rewarding. The landscapes are surreal, beautiful green valleys, dramatic cliffs and serene beaches. Refuelled with hearty Scottish breakfasts, fresh seafood, and of course, a wee dram of whisky to help with the typical Scottish weather."

“The Swiss Alps had been on my bucket list for years, and this trip was truly magical. Every view was stunningly beautiful, making it one of the best trips of my life. I now long to return.

The walks were meticulously chosen to highlight the best spots, and we appreciated the variety of routes available each day, catering to different levels of difficulty. Public transport in Switzerland is remarkably efficient; what initially seemed complex was, in fact, very straightforward.

I absolutely loved our hotel in Meiringen. Hotel "Meiringen" is a family-owned establishment with a long history. The chef, who is also the owner, added a charming personal touch by conversing with guests during dinner. The hotel is adorned with remarkable artwork created by the owner’s grandfather. It was exceptionally clean, and the half-board option offered an excellent selection of meals.”

"A true moment of peace on lovely path with enchanting views over the lakes surrounded by green rolling hills. A perfect moment on the steps of our favourite authors and poets to explore this region that I always dreamed about. With gingerbreads from the famous Sarah Nelson's shop) in the backpack we were ready to discover Grasmere, Coniston and many other places. The hotels are wonderful, well located and used to have customers with muddy shoes and very friendly."

"The quiet rural centre of Mallorca and its small villages are a delightful contrast to the well-known coastal resorts with their reputation for mass tourism. Most of the cycling routes provided were back roads almost free of cars so we could potter along and take things at our own pace. The accommodation was quirky and intimate and the hosts were all very friendly. The routes were a delight! Enjoyed the seclusion on the inland routes. A long lasting memory that will stay with us was being able to experience the celebrations of a local wedding which is such a contrast to what we experience in the UK."

"Slovenia has long been on my list of places to go to and I was not disappointed! 🚴‍♂️🌲 The range of scenery for such a small country is astounding, and everywhere is SO green. Starting at sparkling Lake Bled, surrounded by mountains, we then cycled along the turquoise Soča river to Goriška Brda, the 'Tuscany' of Slovenia, with vineyards as far as the eye can see. 🍇🌄 The Karst region was our next stop and a stay in Lipica, home of the original Lipizzaner horses, before cycling along the Parenzana trail to Koper, on the Adriatic coast. 🌺🐎 Our cycle rides were accompanied each day by the sounds of birds and crickets, and occasionally frogs and goats, and the meadows were full of wildflowers." 🌸🐐

"Along with the scenery, all the accommodation we stayed at was so good and varied too. I particularly liked the small family-run Hisa Ma**ca, and their restaurant was amazing. "Paddling through places like Meyronne and Souillac in the Dordogne is one of the most relaxing ways to see one of France’s most beautiful landscapes- even with two small kids in tow! The perfect way to start our family summer holiday in France.
The canoes and river navigation are super novice-friendly with minimal exertion required and plenty of swim-stops to cool-off and.. the reward of world class hospitality (and amazing wine) at the end of the day!"

5 MUST SEE places in Lanzarote!⬇️ 1) Caldera Blanca - the Caldera Blanca route crosses ample volcanic badlands on a lava surface which resulted from the eruptions between 1730 and 1736. Its two central elements, Caldereta and Caldera Blanca, originate from two cones which were caused by previous volcanic eruptions.
