Always a favourite with our guests is the nearby East Ruston Old Vicarage Gardens. We are just 10 minutes in the car and you can explore this extensive , creatively designed gardens with rare species , an apple walk and woodland.

The gardens were recently featured on BBC2 Gardeners World.

The inclement weather we have had recently has led to the unearthing of bones at West Runton beach, believed to be of a straight tusked elephant, up to 800,000 years old. Amateur palaeontologist, John Clayden discovered the ankle bone and piece of vertebra at the base of the cliff. This is another amazing find following on from the discovery of the largest, nearly complete Steppe mammoth skeleton known in Britain, back in 1990 (see image).
