One of the most elegant country houses in East Anglia, Felbrigg Hall is a place of surprises and delights. It is a mixture of opulence and homeliness where each room reflects Felbrigg’s vibrant history, from the stained-glass windows in the Great Hall to Queen Mary's teapot in the Drawing Room. The Chinese Bedroom showcases Felbrigg’s rich global collections, including luxury exports traded by the East India Company, and the eclectic displays in the Cabinet Room show collections amassed on a European ‘Grand Tour’.
Outside, the decorative and productive walled garden is a gardener's delight. Flowers from the garden decorate the Hall, whilst allotments in the walled garden provide fruit and vegetables for the Squire's Pantry. You can enjoy watching the hens pecking wherever they wish, with only the sound of the busy bees in the flowers.
The rolling landscape park with a lake, 211 hectares (520 acres) of woods and waymarked trails is a great place to explore nature and wildlife on this bountiful estate. With buggy friendly surfaces on main visitor routes, families can enjoy a relaxing day out.

Some early morning visitors this morning 💨
#hotairballoon #sunrise
Our two beautiful single storey holiday cottages were converted from barns in 2015 and have been successfully receiving visitors since then, perfect for couples looking for a quiet get away or families wanting to explore the many attractions close by. We are located 10 miles North west of the medieval city of Norwich and 2 miles from the small market town of Reepham with its pubs and cafes, local market and shops. And also central in the county so the beautiful beaches that Norfolk is known for, the Norfolk broads and the fine city of Norwich are all only half an hour away.
Both cottages sleep four comfortably with an open plan living area and we very much welcome dogs. We are very rural on a private drive and near a virtually unused footpath perfect for dogs and humans to stretch their legs. There is a tennis court for the more energetic and a fully equipped games room with a full size snooker table, table tennis, darts, table football, a retro games console and a cupboard full of children’s games, books and dvd’s, perfect to amuse both old and young.
The cottages have dual aspect patios with seating at the front which catches the morning sun and is just perfect for that first cup of tea while listening to the birds sing, and if you are lucky a sight of a deer or hare in the fields surrounding us. The views are uninterrupted from the cottages and in the evening you can sit out with a chilled drink in the enclosed garden and watch the bats flying and see the amazing sunsets that unfold around us. Guests booking both Pheasant and Partridge Lodge for 2020 will be able to enjoy a hot tub on the enclosed patio for an even more relaxed stay.
Guests receive a welcome pack including all the essentials to make a cup of tea after your journey and some cake to start the relaxation, and later on you can enjoy the bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. If our chickens and ducks are laying you will also have some eggs to enjoy during your stay.
Reepham is a five minute drive or a nice 2 mile walk away using the small country lanes and footpaths and has a good selection of places to eat and drink when you get there and the bonus is they are dog friendly. There is a selection of shops that should meet all your shopping needs, butcher, deli, Spar, Post Office, hardware store, hairdressers, pharmacy, gift and art shops, antiques and quality second hand clothing. For a bigger food shop major supermarkets all deliver to us or the nearest large supermarkets are with-in 20 minutes drive.
Reepham also has a pizza and kebab takeaway, Chinese takeaway and Fish and Chips from V’s cafe is available Wednesday to Friday. The cottages can also get a delivery from a local Indian takeaway if you fancy that.
Bawdeswell is a small village that can be reached by car less than 5 minutes away and has a well stocked village shop for essentials. It can also be reached by foot by taking the bridle way and footpath that passes the cottages, it takes about 35 minutes and is very rarely used other than by our guests and myself! Bawdeswell also has a small pub, a garden centre with cafe and five minutes walk further on is Hamptons at the Barn which is another cafe and gift shop with-in easy reach.
