We are looking for Volunteers and budding wildlife researchers to help us on our exciting new lion monitoring project!
What does the project involve?
- We are looking to establish baseline population data and investigate lion movement and habitat use across our study sites.
- Through the use of camera trapping and spoor surveys we will collect important data to help us better understand population numbers and dynamics as well as gaining a better understanding of how the lions are utilising the land.
What will volunteers/researchers gain from the experience?
- Learn integral wildlife research skills such as: project planning and implementation, surveying methods, camera trap placement and settings, behavioural monitoring skills, image and data analysis, and much more!
- Learn exciting field skills including tracking, species identification, navigation, vehicle maintenance, and bushcraft skills.
**Additional Botswana Expedition**
All volunteers that stay with us for 4 weeks or more will have the opportunity to take part in our week long Botswana expedition. You will visit some of the most iconic wildlife areas in Africa including: Chobe National Park and the Makadikadi Basin. This is a great opportunity to see more of this beautiful country and enjoy the wonderful wildlife it contains. This trip lasts for a week and is included within the price.
