On a recent trip to Bhutan we saw almost 300 different birds including two trogons, three forktails, four hornbills, five barbets, five yuhinas, eight woodpeckers, nine t**s, all nine bulbuls and ten laughingthrushes, plus stars like Ibisbill, Tawny Fish Owl, Yellow-rumped Honeyguide, Long-tailed Broadbill, Red-faced Liocichla, Spotted Elachura, Beautiful Nuthatch, the stunning Blood Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan and Himalayan Monal and the mega-rare White-bellied Heron! All this amid wonderful scenery while accompanied by some of the nicest people on earth!

On a recent trip to Scotland we saw 87 different birds including Red-throated, Black-throated and Great Northern Divers, Long-tailed Duck, Scaup, Common and Velvet Scoters, American Wigeon, White-tailed Eagle, Hen Harrier, Red and Black Grouse, Woodcock, Crested Tit and Snow Bunting, plus fantastic close views of Red Squirrel, Badger and Pine Marten.

On my latest outing with West Bridgford U3A we saw 41 different different birds including Great Northern Diver, Cattle Egret and Willow Tit.

On our latest walk at Burton Meadows we saw 42 different birds including Barnacle Goose, Goldeneye, Goosander, Red Kite, Oystercatcher, Yellow-legged Gull, Kingfisher, Grey Wagtail and Brambling.

On our latest Day Break to Carsington Water we saw 48 different birds including Great Northern Diver, Red Kite, Willow Tit, about 200 Pink-footed Geese and a Barnacle x Nene hybrid in a flock of Barnacle Geese.

On our Hogmanay trip in a lovely hotel, we saw Red Squirrels, Mountain Hares and a Scottish Wildcat as well as 82 different birds including rarities like Red-throated and Great Northern Divers, Slavonian Grebe, Long-tailed Duck, Smew, Velvet Scoter, Green-winged Teal, American Wigeon, Black Grouse, Hen Harrier, Great Grey Shrike, Waxwing, Crested Tit and Snow Bunting, and all amid wonderful scenery.

On a recent trip to The Gambia & Senegal we saw 16 different mammals and a total of 253 different birds including 24 types of wader and 24 raptors, 14 different herons and egrets, 11 pigeons and doves, all 8 possible bee-eaters, 8 kingfishers, 6 terns, 4 owls and 4 different rollers! On my latest Day Break to Old Moor we hade amazing best ever views of numerous Bearded T**s, posing in the sunshine! At one point we had 8 birds showing in the scope while perched in a nearby shrub!

Check out my latest trip report from Exciting Scilly where we saw a trip tally of 77 species, including highlights like Great and Cory's Shearwaters, Cattle Egret, Spoonbill, Jack Snipe, Mediterranean Gull, Short-eared Owl, Wryneck, Black Redstart, Pied Flycatcher, Siberian Chiffchaff, and Lapland and Little Buntings in the same scope view!

A recent visit to The Wash produced North American rarities like Lesser Yellowlegs and Buff-breasted Sandpiper and 50 different birds on a cruise aboard the Boston Belle. Where else could one see the likes of House Sparrow, Guillemot, Roe Deer and Common Seal from the same boat?

On our most recent Day Break we saw a Stoat, several close Roe Deer and 54 different birds including Swifts and Sand Martins galore, plus Grey Partridge, Little Ringed Plover, Spotted Flycatcher, Lesser Whitethroat, Yellow Wagtail, Yellowhammer and Bittern!

In 3 hours at Attenborough nature reserve we saw 43 different birds including Ringed Plover, Marsh Harrier, Garden Warbler and fantastic scope views of Snipe, Green Sandpiper, Garganey, Great White Egret, Spoonbill and a Kingfisher on a post!
