East Midlands Equine Horse Transport

East Midlands Equine Horse Transport I have had an interest in horses and ponies since childhood and have worked with them most of my life.
(178)

At one point I was working for Fred, Mary and David Broom as a groom and my interest continued. I then started breaking and schooling and solving problems with other people’s horses. In 1993 I went to work for a dealer, breaking, schooling, competing etc, and in 1995 I started my company East Midlands Equine; in the first instance, initially as a horse transport company. I had seen for myself ove

r the years how the way in which horses were loaded and transported could be improved and this is what I set out to achieve. My ethos is that the horse always comes first. 5 years later My Company expanded to include the other side of my passion – schooling, breaking – and for 26 years my company has grown from strength to strength. I have some excellent staff that understands my way of looking after and working the horse, either on livery, in for behavioural problems, breaking, schooling or competing for owners.

Our first job of the day yesterday was for these two going from Risley to Diseworth. The little lady on the back has to be sedated by the vet for travel due to claustrophobia but yesterday was the best she’d ever loaded for us

Yesterday, we had the pleasure to rescue this loverly natured mare from the morton hamstead area
Where she had been out on loan
Where the loaner had not been looking after her.
Whilst in her care she moved her in a 3.5ton herself and had the horse go down in the van.
And just kept driving
Her injuries Where not treated
But thanks to the yard owner this loverly mare was then looked after by her and she managed to find the owner
Who then Contacted me to ask if I would go and fetch her home
But warned me about the travelling issues
We managed to load her without too many issues
And could tell as soon as we starting moving she was very nervous so we just took it very slowly so she could regain her confidence for travelling
And within a few miles she regained her confidence and travelled beautifully for the whole 198 miles
Came off the lorry lovely
And now safely back at home with her owner Where she will now get the love and care she deserves
Short video of her travelling once gained her confidence eating quite happily
( video taken by my co driver Dave )

Yesterday, we took Roxy from Corley Coventry.
Across to Newmarket
The first time we met Roxy, we were told she had had a bad experience in a 3.5 ton vehicle
And yes, it took us about 10 mins to load her
Yesterday, Roxy came up the yard on her toes.
I took Roxy off her owner and approached the lorry, and she loaded very well with just 1 back off
Then, she loaded and travelled beautifully
Arrived calm and cool just walked off the lorry very calmly
