Only realised that i can do these panoramic photos on my phone and they appear as 360 deg VR type photos when posted on Facebook. Here are a few from the balcony of our 2-bed apartment in Sunset Bay. Just click the photo on your phone or tablet and move side-to-side and it’s just like you are here.

Just in case there is still confusion over UK Passport validity. You need to double-check the DATE OF ISSUE and the EXPIRY DATE to ensure all is well. Many people have been caught out by the first one as it's the ISSUE DATE that's important and must be less than 10 years from the DATE YOU ENTER (see below)

Yet more confusion over ‘quick sharers’ but ‘laxed readers’ posts on Facebook and being wildly ‘blindly shared’. I’ve been reading that unvaccinated Travellers from the UK will now be accepted in Spain if tested beforehand. This is invalid and was never said by the Spanish authorities but was misinterpreted by ‘eager sharers’.

The post below makes it clear what the rules are (although it was never a U-Turn) - Yes, 12-17s can and maybe in time this will apply to all ages (as it makes sense IMO) but NOT AT THE MOMENT.

https://news.sky.com/story/spain-tells-unvaccinated-british-tourists-they-are-not-welcome-after-rapid-u-turn-12584436

Just a day earlier, the country had announced it would welcome all UK holidaymakers with immediate effect, with those unvaccinated against COVID-19 able to enter with a negative pre-departure test.

YES, it’s true, pretty much the final hurdle to a stress free holiday in Tenerife and should also take some pressure off UK airport checkin staff who have struggled with the recent surge in demand.

It is also true that for the vast majority of places the mandatory wearing of masks INDOORS will also been removed from Friday 20th April

This will come as a great relief for restaurant staff who have had to wear masks the whole time in hot conditions in a very busy restaurant.

HEADS UP - Anyone from the UK in Tenerife (or abroad in general) on an O2 'non-smartphone' and with NO SERVICE (calls, texts etc) - just had this on a (non-smartphone) Nokia 6303 so contacted o2 on live chat after trying lots of things myself.

Seems 'something' changed overnight (poss to do with time change) which meant roaming no longer operational. Operator was able to reset this his end and a few minutes later we got service back.

Shouldn’t effect smartphones.

May also effect other networks.

A little less panic for those returning to the UK with the passenger locator forms now able be done 3 days before arrival rather than 2.

I think these may soon be dropped altogether as we continue towards ‘living with Covid’ but for the moment they are still required.

It is a point of stress that they cannot be completed until within 2 days of arrival back in the UK. What if I have a problem? What if it rejects my answers? How can I get it printed to avoid complications? Well now at least you have been given an extra day.

Most hotels and apartment complexes will print your form for you (usually be you sending them the PDF by email). Many shops will also do this and some will even walk you through the process of filling it in and help you with the questions and then print it out (most we hear charge €5). Branches of Admiral Travel do this that we know of but ask around, your reception, local restaurants, other holidaymakers, pharmacies etc and they will know.

You must provide your details in case you or someone you travel to the UK with develops coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms - sign in to start or edit and submit a passenger locator form.

This is good news for many who have not been able or preferred not to have the vaccine but have had and recovered from Covid. Not quite sure how you get one or more importantly ‘how you prove’ you’ve had & recovered unless you were treated by a GP or hospitalised.

I do think it’s another step towards ‘living with Covid’ which includes ‘living alongside (some) people who have not been vaccinated against Covid’.

So, Tenerife is still at level 3 but “Should you come on holiday to Tenerife”? Read this from Canarian Weekly. Clearly some people will choose not to go, and this has led the airlines to drop prices significantly. Although we don’t know we suspect Hotels will similarly be offering great deals.

A lot of misleading posts on Facebook saying ‘heading for level 4’ or ‘to go to level 4’ but all speculation and it was confirmed yesterday that Tenerife will stay at level 3. See earlier post as to what constitutes level 3 but we are here at the moment (since Mon 20th) and there are no restrictions that would effect holidaymakers. Yes, masks mandatory in shops etc (as UK) and slight reduction in numbers allowed in restaurants (not been an issue as fairly quite at the moment). No restrictions on the weather, fabulous as always.

So. Level 3 from tomorrow in Tenerife but what does it mean?

As level 2 it is simply a reduction in the allowed capacity in restaurants, restriction on number of people allowed to congregate in a group and slightly earlier closing times )for level 4 that’s 2:00am)

I suppose it’s only to be expected with the rising number of infections down the the Omicron variant and mirrors to a degree what we are doing on the UK.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news for anyone going to Tenerife over the coming weeks but Tenerife is to go to Level 2 from Min 13th Dec. In truth it's not a big change from level 1, mainly just restrictions on numbers INSIDE restaurants. I'll try and find the exact restrictions for level 2 and post them in the comment.

Just to clarify if you’ve heard differently. It’s the UK that (from Tuesday) will require ANYONE coming into the UK to have a PCR test within 2 days of their arrival in the UK.

This was the situation until recently which has been RE-INTRODUCED owing to the Omicron variant which can only be detected via a PCR tests. PCR test are widely available in Tenerife, ask in any pharmacy for nearest places. Cost is €30-35 person. You will receive your results via email (or you can pick up a paper copy) which must be shown at flight check-in at Tenerife airport (at least that was the case in September).

Coronavirus: UK tightens travel rules amid Omicron spread https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59534685

Travellers to the UK will have to have a negative Covid test before departure, the government says.
