Seafari's new boat: Chapter 12

Seafari’s new Cheetah Catamaran will be powered by two of the new (and only available in the UK from May 24) Yamaha V6 350hp outboard motors supplied by Yampower Glasgow. These engines will be fully integrated into the Raymarine Navigation system. They also have electric steering and is the first Seafari boat to include joystick controls enabling the boat to even move sideways

With all kit and equipment ready for an agreed sea trial date of the last week of April Tony stops the project. With a pair of Yamaha V6 300hp engines onsite and ready to bolt onto the boat Tony learns Yamaha are about to launch a new V6 350hp engines. 17% more power.

from Scot Seats. They fit on two pallets. Our new trailer accommodates two pallets. Ideal. At Scot seats despite the best attempts by everyone 4 have to fit on the bed in the van. Jess insists I organise a hotel for the night.

Seafari's new boat: Chapter 5

There has to be a funny side to every boat build. In November Team Seafari headed to Cheetah to see the new hull just out of the mould. There it is points Cheetah’s boss. ‘I thought Seafari’s new boat was to have a grey hull’ says Iain. Colour drained quickly from the face of the boss. It was as white as the hull infront of us. I’ll fix it was his only comment. Seafari’s grey hull was the next boat out of the mould.

One of our skippers, Roy, got this clip today of two dolphins coming in close to say hello!

Over the last couple of seasons these cetaceans have begun to live up to their name - common dolphin. We have been seeing them more regularly then the bottlenose variety on our trips. All cetacean sightings on #Seafari tours are sent to #Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust, via their Whaletrack App, which is also a great for identification too. #wildaboutargyll #wildscotland #dolphin

Oh deer, oh deer, oh deer. We did have really good sightings of red and fallow deer last year, mostly on #Scarba. Here's hoping they are as good during the coming season. #wildscotland #wildaboutargyll #oban #wildaboutargyll

We are so fortunate to have Golden and White tailed Sea eagles in the Firth of Lorn, which delight the passengers, fortunate enough to get a glimpse of these magnificent birds of prey. The sea-eagles can be quite obliging when it comes to posing for photographs, but the skill is taking the shot of the birds in flight!! The eagles video is cracking

The weather has been lovely and sunny, but it has been baltic, which can keep some folk inside and I don't blame them!! Whilst we are looking forward to what we might see in 2024 we thought we would post some of the wildlife highlights from last year. The clips have been put together by Josh using pics and videos contributions from skippers and crew from 2023.

We had some fantastic eagle action on the tour this morning!!! These 2 adult Sea Eagles followed us down Lunga and Scarba giving us some impressive views! On this rather wet Saturday, we are reminiscing about this beautiful red deer stag we saw a few weeks ago having a little paddle on his favourite beach! We might have been blown off the water over the last few days but it has resulted in some pretty stunning waves off the back of Easdale Island! Here is some slow-mo wave action!

It was a windy and wild weekend for the @worldstoneskimmingchampionship on Easdale island but it didn't stop our fun! Team Seafari helped with car parking, burger flipping and stone measuring!
