A visit to Castle Stalker in the winter sun, followed by a delicious lunch at The Pierhouse restaurant, just 30 minutes from Oban.

Originally built as a small fort around 1320 by the MacDougall clan, Castle Stalker was later used as a filming location for Monty Python and the Holy Grail in 1975.

Time away from Dunstaffanage marina for us to visit Loch Awe and admire Kilchurn Castle in its beautiful winter landscape.

The castle was built by Sir Colin Campbell in the mid 1400s on Kilchurn island in Loch Awe. It was the main stronghold of the Campbell Clan for three centuries. Mighty Ben Cruchan in the background. It was finally destroyed by lightning in 1760. Nowadays it can be reached by foot.

A few days ago, Seahorse II guests enjoyed a guided tour of Lewis and Harris. Some of the highlights were the Calanais standing stones, the Dun Carloway Broch, the Arnol Blackhouse and Lews Castle.

Sunfish (mola mola), Risso's dolphins, minke whales, eagles, seals and bottlenose dolphins. Some of the wildlife our guests have recently enjoyed during a 10 night voyage to St Kilda.
