A wee bit about us...
The lovely and dedicated family who began Loch Seil Cottages passed the baton to my husband and I at the end of 2019. The cottages and our house sit around a courtyard, which means I can just pop over for the cleaning and guests can give us a shout if they need us! We had lived in Argyll for nearly 5 years before moving here and love the beautiful landscapes and wildlife. We are surrounded by hilly farmland (you can sometimes spot a curious sheep from the window!), and the garden is full of birds - including a woodpecker that comes to our bird table and a heron that picks frogs from our burn! The Slate Islands are just down the road and Oban is 20 mins drive away, so we really have the best of both worlds. Although there’s not much to see now, there are standing stones, a crannog, croft ruins and ‘St Brendan’s Seat’ on our doorstep and I think you can feel how ancient the area is! We are so fortunate to live here and our hope is that people can come for a relaxing, comfortable holiday and either explore the area or just get away from it all. We have a wee dog and have taken her on holiday with us around the UK - in fact we haven’t been abroad together since she arrived! When I’m not ‘working’, I’m usually walking, crafting, trying to look busy in the garden, or curling up with a good film. I’m also interested in various practices that help us relax, stay grounded and feel good! But more of that to come...! Laura Jane x
