We love hearing what our guests and their dogs get up to during their stay at the cottage.
ogmore has been booked up over the summer and have welcomed some lovely families over the holidays!

To help improve our guest’s experience we have recently set up ‘Touch Stay’ which is a digital guidebook that can be downloaded prior to arrival.

It provides all the detailed information our guests will need prior to and during their stay, such as check-in info, appliance instructions, local places to eat and emergency contact information.

We have had some great feedback and hope that it helps make a stay .ogmore a more enjoyable one! 😊

Even if the weather outside isn’t great for guests during their stay, we have books and games available in the living room along with a smart TV so you can watch your favourite films!

.ogmore is located right in the middle of the coastal village of Ogmore By Sea.

You can easily walk to the local shop and post office (picture 1) which is well stocked with all the essentials and some lovely local produce.

Our patio has lovely sea views and the beach at Ogmore (pic 2) is a straightforward walk from the house. Dogs are welcome here all year round.

If you fancy grabbing a coffee (pic 3)is located just down the hill on Slon Lane and offers a range of coffees and snacks to keep you going!

If you are bringing children to .ogmore there is a playground at the end of the street as you head up the hill (pic 4) and also one located next to the village hall by The Welsh Coffee Co coffee shop.

Hilary and Iain’s is a great shout for lunch/dinner (pic 5) and they also offer takeaway fish and chips. They are located next to the village shop.

If you are hoping to take home a gift or momento then is worth a visit (pic 6) and is a short walk from the house.

If you are happy to walk a little further then is a good pub and has regular events/live music during the summer months. Or offers light bites and coffee with a sea view.

🌸 8 Reasons to visit us in Spring/Summer 2024🌸

1. We are based on the coast and have some wonderful beaches very close by, many within walking distance.

2. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside which is perfect for walkers and their dogs! has some great info on the trails in the vale and lots of info is included in our welcome packs. offers guided walking tours throughout the Vale.

3. There are so many family friendly places to visit locally, from to and . You can even go and seek out The Gruffalo

4. There are an abundance of places to eat and drink locally which cater for all tastes. Many have outside courtyards or gardens so you can enjoy the sun whilst it shines! The gives some great recommendations.

5. Cardiff City is a short drive away with plenty on offer including shopping, theatres, restaurants, museums as well as the lovely

6. The area has many events going on over the summer including sporting fixtures, family fun days and music events. The ever popular is being held from 24th-27th May and is within 15 minutes drive from

7. This small part of the world holds many places of historical interest including castles, museums and stately homes. Visit the ‘Red Castle’ or visit St Fagans History Museum with the family for a fun day out.

8. We must of course mention .ogmore We are dog friendly and the house has an enclosed garden with hot tub, patio and bbq perfect for the summer evenings.

It’s October which is great news for our four legged guests!

Dogs are welcome on even more of the beautiful beaches in Bridgend and The Vale until the beginning of May.

There are plenty of lovely businesses and places to eat locally who welcome well behaved doggos so keep your eyes peeled for the logo!
