Tomorrow we welcome the Crystal Serenity to the Isle of Man. She is expected to arrive in Douglas Bay around 0700hrs having arrived from Holyhead.

With over 750 passengers and crew onboard, we look forward to another busy day for the cruise team.

Guests once ashore will be enjoying tours around the Island and visiting Cregneash, Castle Rushen and The Old House of Keys as well as using the Steam Train and visiting Peel.

Whilst the ship has been a visitor to the Island before, Crystal Cruises in now owned by Abercrombie & Kent and we look forward to many more visits of the new look Crystal ships in the coming years.

Bit of a mixed bag with the weather today for guests from the New Holland America Line’s ship MS Nieuw Statendam. I took visitors to Peel this morning and Castletown via the Steam Railway in the afternoon.

The 14th August will be a record day for Cruise Isle of Man with the arrival of Holland America Line's Nieuw Statendam to Douglas Bay. The arrival will surpass the previous record for arriving passengers onboard a cruise ship which was set by the ex Holland America ship Rotterdam on the 10th Aug 2016 when she arrived carrying 1,335 passengers. The ship is expected to arrive in Douglas Bay at 0800hrs and will remain there until 1800hrs.

The ship will have some passenger and crew movements today ahead of her arrival but is currently carrying in excess of 2500 passengers!!!

Construction on the ship commenced in 2016 with her maiden voyage taking place on 5th December 2018. At 299 metres long and a beam of 35 metres, she will make an impressive sight in Douglas Bay, and with a maximum capacity of 2,666 passengers and 1,053 crew, the vessel will be arriving close to full capacity.

Guests will be exploring the Island both on organised tours and with a lot of independent visitors. If you come across our guests, whether passengers or crew, please extend the usual friendly Manx welcome to all.
