Out on the tide today to check on the Otters after Storm Ashley, I laid up in the seaweed downwind as usual although it was typical that as soon as the heavy Showers rolled in my favourite Otter (Half Eye) & her Cubs turned up, tricky light to start with as they rested up nearby so I angled the lens away to keep it dry, after 45mins the showers past and the sky brightened up for more photos, as they headed back to Holt they played in the kelp with the sun shining on them, they had not a clue I was near them and I left them be to head home!

Golden Eagles will hunt Foxes in the Scottish Highlands and this old carcass lies near the Eagles perch, over time the Nitrogen from the decaying fox has been absorbed by the heather underneath, all the other heather has gone to brown apart from this small patch in purple flower, this shows the benefits of carcass breakdown in the environment and how it can support other life.

Otters showed well over the weekend for clients from the US .
Today I have another tour and Otters are top of the list, my lucky mascot is Bubbles our Otter that sits on the dash of the tour vehicle, here she is using the pair of Vortex diamondback binoculars, they are perfect for clients to get best views of moving wildlife while we visit locations. An Epic week for tours. A CEO of a big company booked me for a private tour for their short time on Skye.
A Defender 110 from Wildtrax was hired for the week giving a dynamic offroad experience to access more remote locations for my clients. They requested solitude and privacy which I was able to give them.
Luckily the sun came out, as did the wildlife!
I would like to give a big thankyou to the Skye locals, Eilean Iarmain estate, Wildtrax 4x4 hire, Highland Council for Airfield access, Kinloch Lodge Hotel for lunches and PDG Aviation for helping me meet the clients needs !

Very busy week ahead so out checking my Otters are about, important not to disturb them so wearing my best camo outdoor gear from Arktis in DPM and Scancam it helps blend in with summer terrain, it helps keep me dry and warm as much as keeping a low profile.

Last week I was joined by the BBC tv Presenter Fiona Bruce who was visiting Skye for her holidays, she wanted to see Deer and other Wildlife on her tour, dispite the poor weather I managed to get Fiona and Nigel a great view of a Golden Eagle through the Spotting Scope, a group of Red Deer Hinds with a young calf, plus a fab Stag in velvet, no Otters on Eilean Ban but still lots to see. Both Fiona and her Husband are lovely people and they where very happy with the wildlife tour I provided.
