🇬🇷 Rhodes Review - Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes In Kolymbia 🇬🇷
⭐ In June, I travelled to Rhodes with my husband and 2 boys (age 4 and 8 years). We stayed for 7 Nights, all inclusive at Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes. We managed to get a really good last minute deal, booking just less than 3 weeks before, cheaper than some bed and breakfast hotels.
⭐ We booked with TUI and flew out on the TUI dreamliner, which is so comfortable with headrests, seat back tvs (brilliant for the kids) and extra leg room. There's also mood lighting, which is good if you're on a night flight.
⭐ We arrived late at night, and the hotel left us some sandwiches in the mini fridge, which was a nice touch. There was also cans of pop, big bottle of water, beer plus as I was celebrating my birthday while I was there, they gave us some cake and a bottle of sparkling wine. They replenish the drinks in the mini fridge every day plus you get a big bottle of water everyday (which was needed in that heat).
⭐ There's 3 areas at the Holiday Village in Rhodes - Relax, Activity and Deluxe. The difference is if you book deluxe, you get your own separate pool and restaurant.
⭐ We had booked a Relaxed Family room with partition and balcony. The room was modern and spacious for the 4 of us, it had a bathroom with a separate shower and bath and a nice sized balcony with a lovely view of the relaxed pool.
⭐ Pools - there's a pool in the relaxed area with a swim up bar where you can use inflatables and another pool in the activity area, which has more going on with entertainment and activities during the day. I preferred the relaxed pool, with it being a bit quieter. There's also an adults only indoor pool, another pool which they use for the swim academy and you've also got the waterpark.
⭐ Waterpark- there's a pirate ship with slides, which my 4 year old loved a bigger slide for my 8 year old and 3 bigger slides for 10 years and older or you had to be a certain height, which I thought my 8 year old would be OK, but they measure from shoulders and they are strict. I suppose it's a good thing, but it meant there wasn't as many slides for my 8 year old to go on. There's also a lazy river, which we all could enjoy together.
⭐ Food - there's a buffet restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner which is self serve including drinks, and there is also a kids buffet where they can be independent and help themselves. The food was lovely and I liked the freshly made omelette for breakfast, but it did get busy, so if you do enjoy a relaxed family meal you might not enjoy this as it was in have your food and out, which is a shame as the food was lovely and there was lots of choice with different themed options every night. There is also 2 A la carte restaurants that you can book into - American diner and an Italian, but you have to be quick to book them - we didn't bother as we didn't want to be tied to a time. For lunch, there's also a food truck in the relaxed area serving burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, chips etc and there's 2 other sack bars in the activity area with 1 serving noodles.
⭐ Entertainment - was same most nights but my kids loved it, it started with something for the little ones then more for the adults later on. There was a holiday village entertainment team that did most of the entertainment each night, with some local acts occasionally. During the day when we was around the activity pool, there was live music from a local band, which was really good.
⭐ Location - you're not far from the strip in Kolymbia, about 10/15 minutes walk, where there are shops bars and restaurants and just outside the hotel there is a mini market and family friendly bar.
⭐ Overall, I would recommend this hotel. The only thing, that let it down for me was the buffet restaurant, just because it was a bit manic and I prefer a relaxed meal. It wouldn't stop me going here again though, the setting of the hotel was beautiful, there were even 3 weddings while we were there.
I hope I haven't missed anything out, if you have any questions about this hotel, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Look out for offers on this hotel and I will also be posting what we did while we were in Rhodes. 💙
