Community Fun Day – 14.09.24

📣Building on last year’s successful event Padstow Town Council are holding another Community Fun Day.

Lawns Car Park will be closed for the day and The Council has hired in different services, meaning the community can turn up and participate in free sport sessions and workshops. ⚽🎾🎻

We are delighted Coach Frank Skate School will be back to help all skill levels in the skatepark for the event. LJD Coaching Ltd are returning and bring even more fun options with them in the MUGA area, whilst also undertaking music workshops - check out our website for further information. Of course, we haven’t forgot Cher’s Funky Faces generating happy amazing face designs and our local emergency services/heroes engaging with the day.

New for this year we have Under the Canopy Cornwall offering 2 bush craft taster sessions and Circus into Schools attending, so you can try and master some new skills.

Also don’t forget that the amateur photo competition is still open for entries (closing date 28.08.24) – all entries will be displayed in Padstow Community Hub on the fun day, where you can vote for your favourite.

Safer Cornwall: Have Your Say Survey

Cornwall residents are invited to have their say on crime and antisocial behaviour in their communities.

Cornwall Council is part of the ‘Safer Cornwall’ partnership scheme and have shared the link for a consultation survey inviting residents to tell them about day-to-day community safety issues that matter to them and what could be done to improve things.

The information from the survey will be used to inform the Community Safety Partnership Plan and to help Safer Cornwall and partners deliver what is needed to help keep Cornwall safe.

The results will also allow Safer Cornwall to see how things are changing year on year.

To access further information and the survey, click https://safercornwall.co.uk/residents-invited-to-have-their-say-on-crime-and-anti-social-behaviour/

Survey closes: 1 September 2024

MUGA Update: Equipment

Please can we remind users of the MUGA to read the ‘Important Information regarding equipment’ signage which is installed on site before thinking about adjusting any equipment. You can find a copy of this information below. Unfortunately someone has moved the tennis set without the proper equipment, which has caused damage to the same. The Council removed the tension/removal device as the contractor who installed the area advised that user tend to over tighten the net and caused damage this way.

Padstow Community Fire Station contacted the Council for permission to hold an event on the MUGA this coming Sunday (28.07.24) which makes use of both 5 side pitches, therefore the tennis net and basket ball hoops will be removed and re-instated on Monday 29.07.24.

We believe the MUGA is well used and great asset for the Community. We would be grateful if users can ensure they have understood the signs we have in position and work in line with the information so the area and equipment is kept nice for all.

Padstow Town Council would like to thank the community for coming out and supporting our outside screening event on Saturday, braving our Cornish weather!

We were lucky and only had a light shower towards the end of the evening – thankfully, the morning and the forecast having been much worse. The event was organised to finish early evening in the hope it would not be too late for both the people attending and the people in the surrounding area.

Thank you to the vendors/suppliers who attended – you did a terrific job and were really supportive. What a fantastic community, it was lovely hearing everyone singing and great to see this event come together. We hope you enjoyed it too!

Keep an eye on the Councils website for details of other community events coming up: https://padstow-tc.gov.uk/your-council/town-council-events/

🌦Weather Event Update 18.07.24: The Show Must Go On….tell the weather that!

We are ready for Saturday’s The Greatest Showman Sing Along. However, the weather report for Saturday isn’t looking favourable – but we are praying it will brighten up for our Event - fingers (and toes!) crossed everyone! We have our singing voices and raincoats at the ready - here’s hoping it will just be light showers, which will still allow the screen company to access the venue safely.

Hot food vender will be selling burgers, bacon baps etc along with a sweet stall and coffee van, so should you need to purchase something to warm you up or keep your sugar levels up, these vendors will be onsite offering prior to the showing and during. 🍔🍭☕

We will be keeping a close eye on the weather and conditions on Saturday and will publish a post on our website/social media between 4-5pm on the Saturday to let you know that the show is on (or not ☹) – Lets all just be prepared with raincoats and suitable footwear in the meantime.

You can never tell what Cornish weather will do!
