Cotenham Barn makes the perfect base for a short break or longer holiday all year through. Set in 3 acres of gardens with a large pond and woodland, Cotenham Barn is a place to relax, unwind and enjoy the countryside.

The garden itself offers many places to sit and watch the nature. there is a footpath leading from the garden across fields or country lanes to Ranworth village.

Cotenham Barn offers a variety of accommodation types to suit most tastes and welcomes couples, families and larger groups across the site. With traditional Bed and Breakfast rooms in the main barn as well as holiday cottages, all buildings were originally farm buildings which have been lovingly converted by the owners to provide a peaceful and unique environment.

Every year we cut back the pond reeds, leaving a small patch for our resident Moorhens. Look carefully at the last photo for a hint of a red beak, now sitting on 7 eggs at the last count 😀

THE ANNUAL MOULT: If you visit the beach and find lots of seals near the waterline please stay well back, more than 10 metres and give them their space. They are adult seals that come ashore to moult their old worn out and damaged coats to grow sleek new ones. They need to rest and scratch until the moult is complete. It takes a few weeks and during the process they will feel the cold, which is why they huddle together in large numbers to keep warm and why it is very important that they are not chased into the sea at this time. Please make sure any dogs are kept on leads anywhere near them and if they all suddenly run into the sea someone is too close! Thank you. Photo: Julie Sissons
