Some interesting wildlife at Freshwater West today: a log absolutely covered in goose barnacles, the biggest dragon fly we’ve ever seen and a Liwsi! 😂😂

An old seaweed drying hut at Freshwater West! Seaweed seems to be making a comeback in cooking locally and makes a great fertilizer for the garden! Freshwater West is only a 5 minute drive from The Golden Plover!

After a busy day on Saturday readying the Golden Plover for our new guests, we took a trip out on Sunday to visit Melin Tregwynt Woollen mill and took Liwsi for a lovely walk through the woods over to Aber Bach beach. When we got back to the mill they’d fired up the bbq and had a band playing! Pulled pork and apple rolls it was then!

On our way back from Stack Rocks the other night, we stopped at Flimston Chapel. Another local landmark that has been maintained over the years by locals, the British Army & the German Army! When former enemies put their differences aside and work together great things can happen: seems a perfect metaphor for current troubles!

Lovely evening for walking the dog, so chose to go to Stack Rocks and the Green Bridge of Wales, just a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from the Golden Plover.

It was Mrs B’s birthday yesterday so on Sunday we went to Rib & Oyster in Kilgetty for lunch. We had some amazing food including one of the best fillet steaks ever! Only 25 to 30 mins drive from the Golden Plover. Definitely worth the drive and on our recommendations for our guests! See you soon guys and thank you!

Warren Church, our village church has an interesting history. After it was closed by the Church in Wales, the British Army, German Army and the locals clubbed together to restore it and it’s now both an independent local church and the Garrison Church for Merrion Range. It’s only a few minutes walk from The Golden Plover with some stunning views out to sea, across the Range.
