Dipsy the herdwick
Keep an eye out for “dipsy” the hand reared herdwick. Herdwick mums are normally really good mums but Dipsy was abandoned at 1 day old. She spent the next 2 months with us in the farmhouse cajoling her to eat even coming on a family holiday to York much to the dogs bewilderment. Today she’s out and about with the flock 🥰🥰

Recommendation alert 🚨 (not affiliated, not sponsored, we just really enjoyed it 🦡❤️ We had a brilliant time last night at the Badger 🦡 Watching hide at Wild Haweswater .The lovely people who know lots about badgers had been in touch in advance of our booking to let us know a good arrival time (based on badger activity) and met us onsite and helped us settle into the cute little hide. Then its a waiting game! We saw a tawny owl, dunnock, song thrush and wren before we were joined by a very active, happy badger, who spent over half an hour foraging around the area before wandering off into the bushes. If you’re a photographer you will get some great shots 📸 , these are just off a phone.Its an evening activity. You get the hide to yourself for up to 6 people, and you can stay up to 11pm for £130 (less if you are rspb members).
